**AMD Fiji Thread**

Anyone decided if they are gonna pre order/buy on the the day of release or wait and see what custom cards come out?

Really cant decide what to do myself. Seems like you will wait forever to get the "right" card

If performance is what I'm looking for at 1440p then I am ordering tomorrow but at the normal price. I don't want any of the 'first' stock with the £100 premium. It should take 2-4 weeks for stock to arrive (based on something I saw posted a week ago) so there is time to change my mind if anything custom gets revealed in the meantime.

That. ;)

Hi,

this certain amount of similarity may spur from DX12 rather than from Mantle, DX12 isn't something that was knocked up on a whim, Mantle merely gave focus. Hardware vendors will have been in talks with Microsoft since the birth of DX so this is not something new. There are certain aspects of both that are similar but that does not mean they are derived from one or the other

Mantle > DX12
Anyone believe differerently.
while Microsoft obviously wrote their own version of Mantle its still Mantle.
Same is true with Vulkan, Metal (Mac)

I remember going into the "server" room at my dads work in the very early 80s with HDDs bigger than shoe boxes with 2 huge metal platters visible in each roughly record sized - held about 800KB each IIRC heh.

EDIT: Oh wow they were actually 850MB.

Pfft, the real fun was with mercury delay line memory. Just a pipe filled with mercury with crystals carefully aligned on each end. One crystal would give an electric pulse and that pulse would move through the mercury at the speed of sound be picked up by the other crystal. If the bit was supposed to be stored again the control unit would send the signal back to the first crystal again.

Awesome stuff

I've been following your WUM posts for a while, you seem immune to the rules.

Dx12 with Fury for example as a graphics pipeline in Fury is highly programmable thanks to GCN that allows the DX12 to take advantage of for example the ACE Asynchronous Shaders
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dfv4JQSCQvU

While Mantle is the main codebase of the variations now coming out Dx12, Vulkan, Metal they offer a more flexible layout to program than ever before closer to the metal of the hardware offering unprecedented control for a game developer and many of them have used Mantle to program and study for Dx12 so the transition to windows 10 and Dx12 is going to happen faster than ever.

Thats why I buy Fury.

It offers the technology of a highly programmable GCN technology suited for Mantle and Dx12 as they share a lot in common again due to the codebase for Dx12 comes from Mantle. Microsoft wont say that officially obviously.

Now I offered some of my reasons to buy Fury and you?
Whined, complained off topic and you ask me why I follow the rules and your not? Isnt it obvious? :)

hmmm am thinking that all warranties will be VOID if you remove the AIO for any reason - that interposer looks very very breakable.

This is whats worrying me tbh, currently both my cards and cpu are wcd, its looking like im gonna end up with another 120rad just for the card and 1x 360 and 1x 240 just for my cpu!

Unless theres gonn be an techlabs option. Any word from ocuk on this? Might even pose the question in cs
