AMD freesync coming soon, no extra costs.... shocker

Yes I know Sep 2nd for 285 but assumed USA time for NDA lift as they are preoeder in store here. :)

P.S at staff, the 285 flyer up top of this forum (when it changes) to the CPU section.

Reason they are preorder at OCUK

The delay was ourselves.

If you look at competitors, you will see they have launched at £200+

We battled with partners for a price to compete with GTX 760 and as such delaying our delivery a few days.

The result is we got much better pricing to allow us to match 760 price, whereas our competitors were just dumb and ordered at the normal price and as such priced them higher than 760.

I am sure as customers you'd rather buy them £30 cheaper. :)

I have since read that thread. :)

Anyhow like it or now it was todays news on a rep site and confirms what was not confirmed before and at least one amd user was grateful and said thanks, I do not care either way TBH.

Was not a bait and was posted in main GPU section, though I knew it would be merged and I messed up title initially.

There's nothing wrong with posting that here, If it's factual it matter's. So here's another thanks.

This is a discussions thread if you don't want replies to what you post don't enter a conversation by replying to others.

Only when the reply is relevant, your opinion is not relevant to stating the facts.
Your comment is an opinion not a fact and others have already addressed your opinion.

Someone asked a question, not an opinion, a question, i answered that question with a fact, job done, the opinions does not change the fact of what it does, so im keeping out of the opinions.
Now if i replied to an opinion with my own opinion that is another matter, but neither were the case.

You added to a conversation several people where having regarding free-sync, as I said it's a discussion thread you replied to someone who was part of a link of people answering questions with questions. If your so bothered about being dragged into a conversation why keep on responding now? Is it cause you need to have the last word regardless of being right or wrong? It seems to be so go on knock yourself out.

If i was addressing the points of your opinion that would be being dragged into The conversation, im not addressing your points because as i have said i dont care for them because i served my purpose when i said this..

Why on earth would you want dynamic refresh rates for a fixed FPS video playback..........

So that the refresh matches the video playback, instead of the refresh being 144hz, 120hz, 60hz no matter the fps of the video being played, so a refresh of 24hz on 24fps video being played.

I addressed Sin_Chase question I should not need to say anymore as its not open ended or ambiguous.

That is the purpose, that is the facts, that is my contribution and as far as my intent at that time on the matter, take it or leave it and that's all i want you to understand.
Now you can go and have the last word, if you think that what its about.

AMD confirmed what gpu's are supported last month, AMD has been very vocal@oCuk about Project FreeSync, AMD had a Project FreeSync Q n A session with Warsam and Thracks here, you must have missed it.

Hello Everyone,

After receiving numerous replies and questions about my recent post titled: AMD: FAQ for Project FreeSync is up I thought it would be helpful to have my colleague Robert Hallock (a.k.a. Thracks) hold a Q & A Session with everyone here. As some of you may know Robert has played a critical role in Project FreeSync and is the author of the FAQ.

Hence, I’d like to invite you to join me and Robert Hallock on Friday, August 22 at 06:00PM (UK Time)/11:00AM (US Time) for the Q & A Session.

The session will last for one hour. We will do our very best to answer your questions during the session; as such please wait for the session to start before posting your questions.

The name of the thread will be: “AMD Project FreeSync: Q & A with Robert Hallock”. I will start the thread approximately one hour before we start.

Meanwhile, please check out the existing FAQ as we have updated some of its content already.

Hmm.

So someone like me who has a 7970 I could go gsync or freesync? Makes no difference as I'd have to buy new card and monitor anyway.

I don't see how free sync is any better for people like me.

Yup. Puts you in a good position though personally as you have the beauty of waiting for project freesync to launch before deciding on which new tech to try out.

You know, iv never understood gsynk or this freesync, could someone quickly give a basic description of what it is and what it does. And will it effect me at all? I'm not aware of any situation where iv needed it or even used it without knowing tbh. Last Nvidia card was a 7800gtx 256mb.

Sorry for the nooby question :p
