Could have gone into the main FreeSync thread?
I really need to see Gsync in action. I can't get excited about it or Freesync yet...

Why is it any time there is an update on anything AMD, 9/10 the info gets merged?
It's not as if there is a singular Gsync thread, there has been a few of them and they never got merged...

Well in this case it could be that you posted the same info that humbug did only 2 minutes later, but humbug decided to edit his post, then rusty asked why the info wasn't posted in the main FreeSync thread. Hence one of the mods moving it.
Because this forum is run by Nvidia.. Official partnership and all that.

Any news as to when freesync monitors are supposed to be released?
Pfft, it won't support my 7990 and 7970 as they are "too old". (280x is still being sold).
So I'll still be dumping my AMD cards ASAP for something nVidia for my RoG Swift
Well, if it works like G-Sync, when it eventually gets released, you AMD guys are in for a treat
IT should, Gsync and Freesync are the same thing. The only difference is with Gysnc the controller is built into the monitor(the gysnc module), freesync the controller is built into the video card.
This is why older discrete AMD cards don't support freesync because they have to build the controller into the card. And also why more Nvidia cards support Gsync because all the GPU needs is a 1.2 display port connection which all kepler cards have.
