"AMD"Gaming evolved DVR beta

Ok, this might be of use to you.

Remember i said it was working in Grid 2 and then stopped? well i got it working again.

These are the steps i took to do it.

Unistalled the GE App using IOBit uninstaller, advanced mode removing leftover files, re-booted.

Re-installed the GE App, set it up again and ran Grid 2, recording worked again.

I exited the game and tested again, this time it would not work.

I exited MSI AB and ran Grid 2 again, it worked again, i did this 3 times and each time it worked, i restarted MSI AB and it no longer worked, i checked it again with MSI AB, it didn't work.

I'm about to give up on this ****e...cant get it working on anything, not any overlay nothing. disabled Afterburner, Origin, updated to 14.7 drivers, back to 14.6, uninstalled GE, reinstalled it..nada, zip. It gets me so wound up, getting really cheesed off lately with AMD, roll on the next wave of Nvidia cards, none of this crap with shadowplay

Thats a shame. :(

Surely when you have it set to replay all it does is records in the background but only stores the last X minutes?
Not sure why people seem so amazed by this, TV DVRs have been doing it for a while. These days it seems more like a product would be lacking if it didn't have that feature.

Part of me is tempted to try this, but I keep thinking that I don't actually have anything that worth recording. Just me playing seems pointless. If I was doing walkthroughs, guides or exposing things that people might not have seen it'd be one thing, but just filling up YouTube with more junk just seems pointless and potentially annoying to people that get flooded with random people just playing the game rather than the video showing them something specific they were looking for.
Reminds me of a recent Battlefield Friends episode!
Can't help but think that just because everyone can record and upload/stream video doesn't mean everyone should record and upload or stream video. This is probably where replay is useful as people are more likely to get something interesting.
(This isn't a dig at this app, more all the apps that do this sort of thing)

ok, think i figured something out. The only time I can record anything is with the "ingame overlay" ticked for each game. With the overal yon the screen, my hotkeys work, but if I untick that option, none of my key presses work.

I do believe that this is the first time it been done on PC Game recording,

Also Set Top boxes constantly buffer to disk, there is no disk writing in this which means its floating a continues buffer in memory, its pretty amazing really that it can buffer upto 20 Minits @ 1080P @ 50Mb\s.

Ah... well its good to see you got it working :)

+1

Even the consoles are built around this now, do we really want to make it that easy for 9 year olds to spam the net with Minecraft videos?

sry 4 OT

Hasn't ShadowPlay done this for some time?
Surely buffering in memory is going to cause issues if you set it to buffer too long or don't have much RAM? Some people may still run 4GB RAM and that has to run the game and OS too.
And at the end of the day it's buffering it, I'm sure storing it in memory isn't fantastically more difficult than storing it to disk.

thanks mate, the only thing different to mine are the keybinds. Will change them around a little and see if it then works.

edit: the turn on/off replay key, do I have to press that each time I start a game to turn it on, or is it on all the time if it states its on, on the home screen?

Maybe best reporting your issue on there forum? You must remember it is a beta still and this happens when a program is in its early days of testing.
Shadow play also had its own set of problems, out of us four me, humbug you and Matt I see the difference is the GPUs maybe this is a bug with 7000 series? You tried turning off Crossfire and see?
They no need to get so hurt over it, can fully understand if the program was released and out of beta, but it's not the case.

Like I said above you best bet is to report the issue and help get it fixed.

yep still getting all sorts of hangups and GE crashes. Disabled crossfire and mesed around but just not worth the ballache, it kinda works, and when it does the performance is brilliant, but wasted 4 or 5 hours with very little success

Yep, that's the whole idea behind the name of "Shadow" play :p

Well crossfire recording works great.Tested 6 games no problems so far.No crashes ,it just works for me.

So some Watch_dogs screens with some AMD and quick crossfire video.

What speed hard drive you have? And is it also same drive the game is installed onto?

This sounds like a performance issue, if game and recording is on same drive it can put a lot stress on your system, system can't keep up and you end up with sync error's.

I have BF4 installed on a Samsung 830 SSD, my Boot Drive, recording is done on a WD 7200 RPM Mechanical Drive, BF4 is the only game i have sync problems with, even recording at just 10MB\s, i have a mini Locker Sniper Montage that i'm editing, i'm looking for sync programs if you know of any?

Your setup is done correctly for recording that's for sure. Only Sony Vegas 12 that I know of

I managed to sync the audio with AVIDemux, it was 300ms out, but now Corel VideoStudio x7 will not recognise the files

More mess on to do yet
