AMD IQ Vs Nvidia IQ - shenanigans or something else?

He obviously has a light in there somewhere. He's not going to stand around in complete darkness trying to sell stuff or maybe in Nvidia's world that's how it works :D:D:D:D:D

the amd one has 3 dots on the speech bubble, nvidia doesn't.

is he lit up because amd didn't do the mission yet?

It's definitely not perfect but how come the bottle's on the NV side are lit up a little. Small bulbs inside the bottles.

There's obviously natural light, or the whole thing would be in imperial darkness.

Who knows, I just find knee jerk reactions to be rather tedious. And that's all this section is these days.

If there's a genuine issue, then fair enough, needs sorting.

But when peoples have posted and contradicted Greg's images, it's unsurprisingly ignored.

I doubt it, check the lighting down the street to the right of the stall. It's been awhile since i played so can't say for sure about the mission.

Maybe the lighting changes as you get further into the game though?

either way the speech bubble dots missing suggests both screenshots weren't taken at the same point in the game.

I can't really remember sleeping dogs though

Individual lighting is missing which cannot be brushed aside. The red sign over the shutter door is missing the lighting and so is the double tube light just above it. The shop further down is also missing the greenish light hue on the wall.

IIRC individual light sources are usually heavier on the gpu performance.

I hear you and i am not sold but in that screen the differences are easy to spot which is what i was concentrating on.

I don't think the stall is a mission Greg more a vendor to buy stuff to help you on a mission or give you a boost. I can't remember for sure though. I also seem to remember the dots go off then 1,2,3 and then repeat.

It'd take someone to take 2 shots at exactly the same time on fresh installs at default settings (In the driver) at same IQ settings on the game at the exact same angle for me to be able to comment.

Because that's the only way you'd actually see if there was a genuine intended difference in rendering.

there is i know and have said this so many times on here.

two pcs side by side one with amd card in one with nvidia.i almost got rid of my nvidia card even though faster just for the iq. cause i make many gaming videos.

nvidia has a more softer look to it. amd is more clear and vibrant

I use these settings in the CCC.

I just set the AA/AF via the game, if its got the options.

I always set the drivers to 16x instead of relying on the games setting, texture filtering to high quality (some games you won't get as good af even if the games option is 16x, for amd and nvidia)

every other driver option you can pretty much leave to default

I thought everyone instantly sets all the driver setts for max quality whenever they get a new gpu anyway?

first thing I changed on my 980ti was the texture quality settings to highest.
always done the same with amd too makes no sense that they don't default to max IQ

I remember when people used to run 3dmark back in the early 00's with texture clamp set to like -10 or whatever the setting can go to on nvidia cards lol

but for testing the differences between the two brands using the defaults makes the most sense?

i duno i guess it depends on the point, if its, is one company cheating benchmarks with lesser details then it depends if review sites use defaults also *shrug*
if its which does pretty the best then both max...

In reference to the sleeping dogs video it has to be a render error not intended with the light missing from stall and heres my reasoning behind it.

1: The performance gain from only doing it here would be so small it makes no sense

2: And more importantly if you forward to 1 minute and 20 you can see the light in the stall across the starting to fade back in on both the AMD system and the nvidia system at the same time(AMD system does it a tad later but are also a bit further away)which it wouldnt on the nvidia system if the drivers were purposely cutting corners.

3: Last but not least for this round going back to 1m09s-1m10s the light on the nvidia systems turns on out of nowhere spite the stall almost being out of picture. Again why would you do this on purpose? You wouldn't instead you would leave it completely off, further supporting i believe that this is a bug with this specific stall.
