AMD Launches Three Kaveri APU SKUs in February 2014 – Feature Set For A10 and A8 APUs Detailed

Depends how kaveri turns out, I've never seen cat so annoyed at AMD :p

So am i if Kaveri ends up trash.

We need competition against Intel, even those who have no intention of buying an AMD CPU.

Constantly lagging 40% behind Intel in IPC is no competition, if those slides are true this will be the 3'rd or 4'th AMD architecture that has all but 0 performance increase.

I know AMD are no longer aiming for the performance market, but even the APU market will not accept continuing upgrades that are no upgrades.
its just repeating the same colossal mistake that lost them the performance market.

It seems Hans de Vries has done more analysis of his Kaveri die picture breakdown:

It looks like there is a quad channel memory controller.

Edit!!

That would make the IGP really shine and probably would beat even a GT3e IGP.

I just hope AMD actually enable it!!

Surely that would require a much greater pin out number. (like Intel's Quad channel CPU's have 2011 pins/contacts compared to the Dual Channel CPU's 1150)

Well along with Martini1991, I am going to keep the faith.. Surely AMD wouldn't release a new APU with all this fanfare if it was only 5% - 10% faster...

Remaining cautiously optimistic that it'll be a worthy upgrade..

It's not like AMD to disappoint either...

That last part may be sarcastic (;

The potential of quad channel at some stage is just going to leave me waiting really. Even if its a soldered affair I'd rather wait for it.

Alternatively could the extra IMC on die be dual channel DDR4? Save them having to design a kaveri v2 chip later on?
Edit: Seems unlikely more I think on it, why waste the space.

it's too early to tell, so lets not write it off until someone who knows how to tweak apus and amd cpus has played with one properly.

If the igp results are true, then spot on as I predicted.
Hence everyone was jumping in the air 3x the performance of richland igp, I was ''Nope won't see it''

Would be ordering a A10-7850K on launch and possibly a 65w version (7800 may be) or another 7850 soon after I build the fist one and test noise levels on a Antec ISK 300-150 case.

I'm holding out a lot of hope for Kaveri, we've seen plenty useless rubbish AMD reviews posted before, so I'll just wait another week or so for real reviews.

I'm sure I'll be as disappointed as everyone else come launch day.
