If people hate rumours, then surely posting in a rumours thread is just being a glutten for punishment! :p

That is the part I don't understand. Rumor threads are there to speculate and talk theories. Yet some people cannot handle that and will get angry if any optimistic theories or straight negative theories are posted, basically anything that goes against their viewpoint. It's all just fun and giggles in the end so why so serious? :P

It is a bit of fun and theorycrafting indeed. Might be all bunk TBF,but I still remember the Kepler rumour thread on here being one of the best - that was fun!

I heard the rumours are that big navy will be an nvidia killer, the 3090/Titan do not stand a chance:D

If you believe the leaks then there is no TI/Titan, just a 3090. Some speculate that this is because NV already know they have lost and they don't want their top Titans and TI's beat. Not sure I sub to that school of thought just yet. I don't know what will happen but I have this weird feeling that the top parts from each company may be roughly neck and neck, trading blows. I know one thing for sure, it's shaping up to be an awesome battle and I really want to watch how it plays out.

I hope you are right Vince, it has been a long time since we had an awesome battle. I would love to see Nvidia to lose their crown at the top and AMD to keep it for a good 5-10 years. That would allow them to get mindshare back and claw back some decent market share so we get better competition.

So instead of answering the questions asked, you start trying to attack people. I asked you some technical questions regarding your stance, and you refused to answer, because you couldn't answer, and then started attacking people.

Edit!!

Also thank you for admitting you are acting like a 12 year old. It seems you find your language befitting of a child.

You can't define what a "small die" is. Small die relative to what?? But how can we tell from that measurement, until we see both uarchs in action - I told you repeatedly, uarch efficiency and ease of manufacture is more important.History tells us this. R300/Turing smaller dies than competitors products but beat them. Fermi significantly bigger than Evergreen, but yields were so terrible it barely could pip past it.

You just sprout terms, but when questioned on them you have no answers. I noticed quite a few doing the same with you and giving up.

All you do is deflect by making snide remarks like you do. Continue onwards.

Second Edit!!

Looking at my original posts I was talking to TheRealDeal anyway, not you:
https://forums.overclockers.co.uk/posts/33638471/

He actually agreed with what I said, and you had to come to "prove me wrong". You were so busy argueing with eastcoast, you got me involved in an argument I didn't even want to be involved.

Since you have nearly double the posts in this thread,I will let you continue to argue, and make snide remarks with others.

LOL holy ninja edits batman!!

What kind of immature person counts the number of posts someone else makes? What kind of immature person repeats another person word for word with their posts several times?

And then you say about snide remarks but you carry on making snide remarks, not to me though, but about me to somebody else.

And your revisionist history needs work. You didn't need to be dragged into any discussion by me, your own quotes above prove that. You responded to a post to Realdeal who agreeing I was right. And for a person who is complaining about been dragged into the discussion, you sure are writing long, long, long posts.

And just one more thing. It's not my stance. Its Eastcoasthandle's stance. That's what he thinks is going to happen. I simply asked do other people believe that is what's going to happen. And has history showed us that? You showing the 2 or 3 exceptions over the past 20 years, doesn't really prove anything.

But I will simplify it right down for you. All things been equal and since they are both on the same 7nm process. Let's say AMD and Nvidia both get their architectures right and there are no problems like Nvidia had with first generation Fermi. Do you think AMD can compete at the high end with Nvidia with a small die? Judging by rumours AMD don't think so as Big Navi seems to be 505mm2. History has shown us that the market seems to be quite willing to pay the extra for the performance, so if AMD is behind on performance, how much lower will they have to price their cards to make people switch? And if AMD is equal to or better performance than Nvidia, do you think they are going to charge less?

Surely the Vega and Polaris threads beat the Kepler thread hands down. But I do remember one golden one from Gregster that he thought the original Titan was going to be the top card for 2or 3 years. It barely lasted for 3 months before the GTX 780 was launched :)

Even if rumors are wrong, when was the last time we had a battle shaping up like this? The last proper battle I remember was r300 9700pro/geforce 3 Ti 500/400 series. (I had both of these awesome cards). I mean why would NV change the lineup? It's been the same for ages now so a change to the lineup is interesting by itself assuming the information is baked in reality. Then all the snippets about navi/rdna2 we are getting, something is shaping up and I don't expect NV to just turn over and let AMD win, perhaps they do know that this round they can't win and it's brand damage limitation. Perhaps it's the other way and they feel they don't even need a Titan or a TI to take the crown.

A resurgent AMD is no small enemy, they have the engineering, they have the people and more importantly they now have the money. So lets see what they can bring to the table :D

Random Navi fact - Did you know it is the only star in the Northern Hemisphere named after a person? Navi is Ivan backwards and is named after Ivan Grissom of Apollo 20 (if I remember rightly). I think if I remember there is also just one named after a person in the Southern Hemisphere as well :)

Is it a fact if I never fact checked it?

Actually you might not be far off. Bring out a 3090 (which is meant to be the TI/Titan) turns out AMD knock it about a bit and then Nvidia can say now here is our real Titan and bring out something they have been saving in the wings thats even faster...... for £2499.
