AMD on the road to recovery.

Dr Lisa Su is the one turning AMD around, if she is in conflict with some of AMD's top brass i trust its probably a very good thing.

AMD have had too many VPs and CEOs that just led AMD around in the doldrums. Lisa Su has actually turned things around and it looks like AMD has a future, so if any senior staff can't get on board and have to leave, that's probably for the best for AMD. It's been a long time since I've been genuinely excitied about AMD having an upwards trajectory and being able to bring the fight to it's competitors.

Let's hope once they recover completely, they wouldn't strike again with a "wise" decision to buy someone...

Shares of chipmaker AMD rose gained more than 5 percent Monday, hitting a 12-year high and extending its rally for a third day.

The stock closed at $25.26 after reaching a session high of $27.30. On Friday, shares closed up 7.6 percent after a positive analyst outlook. That followed a 6.7-percent gain Thursday after Rosenblatt Securities raised its price target for AMD shares to a new Street high.

On the video I posted last week, and you re-posted above, the analyst states that AMD shares outside the stock market, were trading last week for $30.

Not as long as Lisa Su is at the helm. That woman has her head screwed on it seems.

That she does and balls of steel to boot, when Raja Khadori said focus on Vega she said no and took 2/3rds of the Radeon Technology Group engineers and have them focus on Navi for the next generation consoles. Even if AMD put out the best graphics card in the world most would still buy nVidia, that in my view was a wise choice as whilst it’s not “sexy” the fact of the matter is that the console market generates strong recurring sales and with limited R&D budgets and resources you focus on the battles you can win.

The biggest worry is she gets poached to be Intel’s next CEO.

Another plus point with AMD is that Intel is struggling with 14nm manufacturing capacity, only today there was a report saying that there are going to be supply constraints affecting Intel CPU output in the fourth quarter.

Sounds to me like Intel need a clear out of their senior management. From the outside it looks very much like they rested on their laurels while their competition caught up. I imagine the large shareholders have a few questions.

I'm really pleased to see AMD competing I just hope they can maintain their momentum. I like their attitude towards innovation and offering new technology with the minimum of restrictions. Such as more cores, unlocked chips, more pcie lanes etc.

Well, she is apparently related to Jenson.
As uncle and niece, apparently, I reckon they're working together to try to own both the GPU and CPU markets between them :D.

I doubt Intel will poach her and she's probably relishing working with AMD. It would be more rewarding bringing a company that was on brink to the top than to joining the better positioned competitor.

AMD continues to outsell Intel in August at one of the biggest hardware retailers in Germany!
QUQi2P5.png
Last month the 1600 was AMD’s biggest seller at Mindfactory but now in August, the 2600 overtakes the throne with nearly double the amount sold compared to the previous month!
The 2700X also saw a modest increase while the 2200G declined, however this was offset by an increase in 2400G sales in return.
It looks like those new B450 boards AMD launched in late July have helped Ryzen 2 sales.

At Intel we can see the 8700k still dominates the charts! The regular 8700 saw a nice bump too while the 8400 saw a noticeable decline in sales for the first time.

Indeed. Jensen's mother and Lisa's grand father were siblings.
And as someone else put it

"After countless generations of breeding the clan of Zifeng (Lisa Su) and Renxun (Jensen Huang) finally managed to breed technological monsters. Destined to rule the world for generations to come"
