AMD on the road to recovery.

The question is if Intel fail to deliver, will the US tax payer also fund Intel Israel, Malaysia, Ireland and so on.

Part of me thinks the spend on these new fabs in the US is going to be.. oh wait I just found it:

As for Intel Foundry Services business, it posted a 24% YoY revenue drop as its sales totaled $118 million, and lost $140 million, more than it earned, because of increasing fab startup costs. But while IFS revenue decreased in general, the company says that the unit posted a 67% sequential growth in packaging revenue.

Intel are seen as critical to US interests, the US government will not allow Intel to fail, they will literally pour endless money in to a black hole to keep them alive. If it wasn't for that Intel would already be doomed, not dead but if they wanted to remain in the X86 space they would have to follow AMD in going fables, and they would have to try and keep up with a frankly much more agile and competent AMD.

Its not the CPU's, its the fabs, Intel are the biggest and best hope for bleeding edge western fab independence, on that i agree and i also agree with government subsidies for Intel.
With that Intel may have to pull back on their X86 business, if not pull out if they cannot prove they can make that part of their business profitable in its own right, which right now it is not. The US government will not subsidise that.
Once these fabs are running Intel will have to open their doors to AMD and Nvidia, which i think they will want to anyway.

Intel are lucky they are of strategic importance, not a chance they will be allowed to fail. If Taiwan ended up in Chinese hands the West would be in big trouble - PG friendly version ;)

Eh? Um.... While its not great his own slide shows they are 9% down on this time last year, which was the best Q1 result they have ever had, did he expect them to better last years Q1 in a downturn?

Its as expected, slightly better even, he was a bit angry hyperbolic with his "Radeon Surrenders" video, i think maybe he's feeling under the weather, a cup of warm milk with some honey and a good long sleep might do him some good.

Gaming hardly fell so the console revenue seems constant.

Semi-custom should also be doing well.
The ROG ally along with the Steam Deck should be bringing a new era of portable PC gaming, adding volume to AMDs offer.

It's impressive how much AMD has grown. I remember the Bulldozer era well when the forecasts were either predicting their downfall or a significant decline that they would never catch up to Intel again. And now we find ourselves in a situation where AMD is outperforming Intel in all fields. They work strategically and diligently. On the other hand, Intel talks a lot, relies heavily on their marketing department, and does little in terms of tangible results. They should have failed a long time ago, but luckily for them, the government and taxpayers' money keep them afloat, lol. It scares me to even think about what it would be like if AMD hadn't awakened and if the sluggish Intel had continued to dominate. They would charge us $1500 for just 4 cores.

Technology is about innovation and Intel forgot that.
Intels 10nm design epic failure opened the way big time for amd but it was the innovation that alongside more cores gave people great stuff

They are paying the price now, and it won't be easy for them to recover. It requires a lot of money and time, and it's not like other companies are sitting idle. Nvidia, regardless of how people may feel about them, is an example of how business is done. They constantly stay on top and don't allow the competition to surpass them. They foresaw the future of A.I. and invested heavily in it, and now they are reaping the rewards. If Jensen took over Intel, maybe something significant would happen with them.

Where does that come from? In contrary, intel never actually increased their prices, the high end desktop CPU was at around 300-350$ for like 10 years straight, even when they had complete dominance. Even their 6core cpus were dirt chip at 380$ back in 2013. The only price increase we've seen in mainstream CPUs was done by....AMD? They increased the cost of their 6core and 8core chips by 50% in 2020, and yeah, let's not even talk about what they did to hedt, lol.

Why do people lie for AMD? It not a one off, it's constant on every single forum. What the actual heck??

Now I understand your post where you write about using multiple web browsers and having a bunch of tabs open, and Intel's idle/low power is important to you :). For the highlighted part, maybe the issue is with you? Have you ever wondered about that? Your eyes see everything through some fanboyism and rooting for a particular company, but just because you do things that way doesn't mean others are the same. Spend less time on forums and more time with friends.

I just exposed your lying, and I asked why you do that. Everything you answered is kinda irrelevant.
