D.P serious question, why do you come into every AMD thread just to naysay and shoot down anything positive towards AMD? this is a genuine question, im intrigued to know?
I dont know you, but ive been around these boards long enough to realise you pretty much haunt every pro AMD thread with negativity towards their products, i just wonder what drives you to do this if you care nothing for their products? its almost like they personally offended you somehow?
I don't go into every AMD thread to naysay, i just put AMD trolls in their place. I'm always positive for AMD when they deserve to be, and critical fof Nvidia when they deserve to be, but OCUk is overrun with with pathetic people who lap up every bit or AMD PR and sing the usual Nvidia kill puppies, AMD can do no wrong rubbish. On other forums where there is a balcned presentation of views then my posts similar give balance representation of AMD and Nvidia, OCUK is just unique AMD centric.
Just take the post I made above, a perfectly balanced piece pointing out that 2 engineering samples of a GPUs doesn't mean anything, especially when one of the GPUs is certainly not 14nm or Polaris given the shipping date 1 year ago. And it certainly doesn't mean that AMD will launch first, given Nvidia already have Pascal engineering samples in partners hands. And at the end of the day I don't care in the slightest about some 750Ti competitor form AMD.
Personally, I used to really like AMD and was a big fan of their CPUs, still got a Thunderbird box. I really want them to do well and I am looking forward to ZEN. What I don't like is their PR campaign against Nvidia, always playing this little underdog against the supposedly big bad bully. What is even more sickening is when the clueless lap it up and go on a hate campaign against Nvidia. The thing that ridiculous image they paint just doesn't do them any favors in the slights, just look at their market share. If they grew up and took on a whole new PR strategy and actually focused on their shortcomings rather than making hilarious statements about nvidia then they would actually do much better. Must be gutting for the AMD share holders to see how the company is run.
Unlike you I don't actually hate AMD, I really don't care, I just hate the pathetic followers of their anti-Nvidia marketing bull.
As for Nvidia, I have absolutely no affiliation in the slightest. I have liked many of their products, I like their support for linux, their support for OpenGL , their support for developers. Their product offerings like CUDA and Tesla are just rock solid and their customer support in those areas make AMD look like a joke, which is exactly why Nvidia dominate in compute. they also have lots of shortcomings, blocking NVidia GPUs being used as a PhysX card in a AMD system is just weak cause. It would also be great to see a completely open source linux driver alternative as well but personally don't care in the slightest, the closed source linux driver is outstanding.
Don't beleive the AMD hype, Nvidia are certainly not evil, not even in the same realm as Intel, Microsoft, Google etc. AMD are at least as dirty, if not more so with their smear campaigns.
Unlike you I don't really have any brand affiliation, I'm wring this from an ATI 6970M powered 2011 Imac. I've certainly used more AMD and ATI GPUs than Nvidia over the last 15 years , defintiely more AMD than intel CPUs.
