Nah getting Kaaps old i7 3970X. Will likely go X99 further down the line.
Atleast you wont have to worry about clocking it Kap will have all the settings figured out
, and one mans overkill is the next mans being prepared, id rather buy the best now and know I don't have to buy more later negating what I saved earlier

Nope I'm afraid i will have to learn it all myself, Kaap has just given me a rough guideline on the maximum overclock i can expect.
On Mantle about 3.3,4gb. DirectX about 2.4-2.8gb.

I'm planning to go to X99 when it's out (or maybe as LtMatt, waitfor the R9 390s and do a big upgrade) but I'm not sure whether to ditch my Z87 4770K system or my X79 3930K system.

What sort of temps are you getting idle/load under water?
I'm running a sapphire 290 ref with an EK block and getting around 32c idle/49-51c load.
Between 5-10c cooler if my wife lets me take the pc out of the cupboard haha.
Just curious to see if everything is running as it should be as i've never watercooled before so i don't really know what to expect temp wise.
