**AMD Radeon 390X Graphics Card WCE**

Don't be surprised if you're saying the same thing about the 390x vs 290x in a couple of months.

Wouldn't be surprised in the slightest tbh, either Kermit is still holding a job down at AMD and Miss Piggy won't let him talk about the good stuff or it's simply nothing special at all.

Its a bit meh to me too tbh, all that hype of being over 60% faster than the 980, and its only around 30% :p

It was never hypes to be that level.
It has 50% more cores and 12% slower clocks so we were expected ~38% more performance which is exactly what it does.

That is probably enough to keep it ahead of the 390X

I concur.

Nvidia are probably aware of what to expect from the 390X, and have done just enough to keep the X ahead performance-wise. It doesn't strike me as quite the same 'kitchen sink' as the other Titans, though.

I am looking forward to giving the 390X a good testing when it launches.

Is anyone else going to get one ?

I am, I'm moving from a 290x and 1080p to 390x and free-sync, 1440 or maybe 21:9 this year.

I've been really disappointed with the temps of the 290x I ended up with so I'll be watching that and hoping it is a water cooled reference card. If it isn't and temps are bad I'm not sure what I'll do, Maybe save a bit more and go green.

Everyone was saying 50%.

If the 390X doesn't smash it AMD may as well give up.

+1

Thought it was an AMD release until I realised there was no outcry.

Do people think the 390x will be the better performer out of the new titan?
I can't see it, but I'd buy it anyway.

it depends how far it'll OC on Water........... or air

the TX was given more RAM but i doubt Nvidia knows it's true potential, my guess is TX will loose popularity due to temps and noise, we'll soon find out

If it's a refined reworked Gcn then possibly, but if it's just tonga scaled up by x2 (3584 and 4096) then I'm guessing it's going to be around the level of the titan X +/- 5-10%.

(295x2) 5632 cores vs 3072 cores Maxwell in a variety of benchmarks gives you an indication where the performance of Fiji will be roughly (which is below the 295x2) if it's just a scaled up tonga.
I could be wrong though.

More importantly though is the price.

Doubtful, that would royally **** off their loyal Titan fans who've just bought the X!

The only top end card left on 28nm for nvidia is the 980ti imo.

TBH i often think Nvdia doesnt care about there buyers,, If they have a faster card waiting in the wings waiting for the 390x i have no doubts it will be released
