**AMD Radeon 390X Graphics Card WCE**

Ah, Videocardz.

I got this benchmark leaked from a secret source too:

If the 390X was a Titan-X smasher then I'd expect AMD to be making noises right about now (to stem the tide somewhat). The fact that they aren't leads me to believe the 20-25% figure over a 980 is fairly accurate and about what I'd expect :)

yes because if it is a TX smasher then they've no worries, because there isn't anything Nvidia can do about it, they've already released their card

it is only unwise to mention anything right now, if it's less powerful, because then it's vulnerable to a sudden Nvidia back lash....i.e a cut down TX for only 450 quid.... i bet they already have it !

conclusion:- the 390X is probably less powerful and thus they're keeping mum about it.

AMD have a huge problem, because being nice and cheap doesn't cut it with me at all.......... it has to be top performance only and for that i'm willing to pay the price.

Matt's not saying a thing...... he knows nothing !!!!

there might be something good out of this.... because i expect AMD will release a card that'll destroy the TX, this will need to be the 390X Dual...

they've still got 2 months left to tune up the 390X, but this silence is too much and i'm liable to buy the TX simply out of blind frustration..

AMD need to realise this, because i bet there's a few others that are fed up like me

Funny thing about that 20% above 980 is that very few ppl ask "what resolution? What games?" If it is ~20% faster than a 980 at 1080p then its as fast as the titanx which is too ~20% faster at that resolution.

I'm really hoping for AMD's new 390x monster cards to completely obliterate the current 980's to the point of humiliation. That way NVIDIA will pick up the slack and release a beefed up 6GB 980 TI equilivent for a cheap price. Oh boy oh boy, everybody wins. :D

I'm expecting Witcher 3 to really set a benchmark too considering how it looked in the trailers. RIP anyone who wants to play it maxed at 4K. It will make us realise how patheticly underpowered current cards are.

I see this a lot. People want the AMD card to be a monster not so they can buy it, just so Nvidia release something less pricey in the high end bracket compared to Titan X. Hows about people reward AMD for releasing a beast at a decent price so they can continue to bring more beastly cards at decent prices.

I'm sure people will if AMD launch something worthwhile.

I'll be first in line for an AMD monster card..

They sure are taking their time. 290X came in 2013.. Where you at AMD?!

Depends on CPU bottle necks at low resolutions, which is exactly why the 390X wot. Get close to its theoretical increase either. The Titan performs 38% faster at 4K, exactly down to spec.

Is that cpu bottleneck conclusion based on the convention or actual review data, out the box or normalised clocks? Not dismissing the influence of CPU at lower resolutions vs 2160p just the extent. You cannot rule out 2160p exposing bandwidth constraints in GM204 at the higher resolutions alongside greater boost capacity that allow it to bench favourably against the GM200 when at lower resolutions. Haven't seen any reviews testing multiple CPU clockspeeds (although if you have any I would be interested to take a read) that would shed more light and DX12 won't be of help for a while yet.

The main point being 1080p isn't disappearing anytime soon and out the box configuration it's not a standard, to spec, 38% faster which is important to note.

You are absolutely right. But I signed a deal with the devil (G-Sync). Kinda sucks, but oh well... :p

I think my most loved graphics card to this date is still an ATI based though, 9800 pro during Half-Life 2 era.

Trouble is, depending on the platform of choice AMD gets smashed on my preference. Having waited patiently for the drivers to at least catch up I've pretty much given up. Even asking their rep but get no response.

NV's 770 beats a 290x under SteamOS/linux In fact in some games(most actually) a 750ti beats a 290x  :(

I want to go AMD again, hell we need AMD to do well, look at the 980/TX price and see what happens when AMD lags.

Unfortunately I think the 390x is going to be maybe a smidge faster than the 980, in which will equate to around a 770 most of the time for me.

I reward my pets when they are good :D

And I did my part for the AMD resurgence... Anyone who bought a 290/X (or any AMD card for that matter) from ebay/MM/gumtree/bloke in the pub, hold your heads in shame :D
