I think this (dx 12/windows 10) and amd's new cards are where they have been spending their entire time and money over the last several months and as a result the current gpu's (more so crossfire users) and windows 7/8/8.1 have suffered, lets just hope it really pays of...
I am in no rush to get a new gpu so can hold of for a bit longer.
Agreed, that's my gut feel too. I'm happy with my 290's so far, so I am hoping to sit out the first gen DX12 cards (as in ground-up DX12 cards, not the current ones that may support some features) and then jump into second or third gen when the hardware's fully sorted and the games start coming through. That said, I reserve the right to change my mind if the first gen DX12 cards are tasty!
