The 290x will be sold just like any other card after this preorder stuff is done and the card is actually released in the first place.

A retailer well known for their accurate price leaks in the US,has listed the R9 290X at around $590 to $600 for the cheapest model.

That would mean around £450 with VAT.

Hope this is true, could offload my 780 for around £400 and for £50 ontop what looks to be a 10% upgrade is worth it in my mind

The HD 7970 was released with a RRP of $499 in the US, so what did it cost on launch in the UK?

About £500 of course! (I got mine for £430, but I was lucky).

With the sort of prices that are being thrown around here for the 290x, you'd probably need to take out a second mortgage for a dual GPU.

They have been accurate in the past with all of their price leaks,with regards to CPUs and GPUs.

The card for $590 to $600 is the cheapest R9 290X they have listed which is a Sapphire card and is probably not a BF4 special edition model.

I'd say that's almost certain. However, Gibbo predicts a 6 week wait for non reference coolers.

Well that's me skint. Just pre-ordered an R290X. Now, who wants a GTX680 lol ! Anyway looking forward to seeing just how fast it is. Fingers crossed ATI's drivers are up to par
