I just had a look through the AND Presentation and there's nothing in there about October 15th.
Makes no diff to me, they wrote it down on something they intended to distribute. So a delay has in fact occurred, but they think they can get away with it by lumping NDAs on top of each other.

Well Nvidia has more experience with wood screws, hardly AMD's fault![]()
It was from a press event in Turkey. Same time we got the rumour that the 280X NDA would be lifted on 8th October.
The NDA for the Radeon R9 290X specifications officially ends on October 15th and that’s basically when the card would either hit retail or final specifications for the card would be unveiled.

TechPowerUp reports that AMD may have actually revealed the launch date of the R9 290X at a press event in Turkey. Apparently, the press NDA is scheduled to expire on October 15, just over two weeks from now.

In any case, we will know for sure next week as the R9 290X should crawl from under the NDA veil on October 15th.
