when was the last time Gigabyte did a mid-upper end AMD/ATI card with reference cooler etc ?

juts most of their mid-range AMD cards are typical blue PCB, Windforce design

I did mean green with envy, but Greg raises an interesting point. Why all the cloak n dagger nda deposit this that n t'other with amd ..... is it just to prolong the agony and confuse the price point while NVidia are prepared to drop the bombshell response?
Oh I don't know what to do .... 290s mmmm but a full fat titan or dual gpu offering from NVidia?
