Fair points and we all think differently, which is great. For me, if I was chuffing up for a 4K monitor, I would want to show it off in its full glory and get the wow factor. And going from Ryan at PCper, he said you still need AA to remove the jaggies (which surprised me).

You don't need AA at 1440p, but me personally i choose to use it. Depending on the game and performance the least ill use is some form of FXAA/MLAA all the way up to full screen super sampling.

The thing is, I have had a little play with my 1080P and 1440P monitors over the last couple of days and I am inclined to agree with you. I couldn't see the difference with SSAO/HBAO and 1080P/1440P. They all looked the same to me but with the 1080P feeling much smoother.

1440P colours look much more vibrant and deeper but that's it as far as image goes, I think I was having a placebo effect when switching up to 1440P and wanting to see sharper images. Maybe it is my old eyes but I do work 150Ft up and need good vision, so I doubt it :p

Need two titans for 1440p, you should never of sold one. :p

More fps.
the way the brain see motion you cant replace more fps.
120hz due to how lcd screens works is just way better and at my age the difference is massive as I get eyestrain with 60hz.

this week I want to read reviews of the 290.

Yeah Greg, bit of a booboo on your part :p

Well, ones enough for the most part if you're not one for super sampling or lots of AA :)

100% agreed but playing Bioshock and BF3, I am getting great fps and tearing. Maybe it is just me trying to talk myself out of it but honestly I am having buyers remorse and this isn't something I like.

Great colours though and nice and depp, so I may stick with it....Why you no do 120Hz 1440P manufacturuererurers damn you..... :p

Ah I see. Maybe you need to upgrade then?
Couldn't cope with and avg fps of less than 120 myself... :)

Anything over 60fps makes little difference on a 1440p IPS 60hz screen. I'm just happy i can max out every game (excluding AA) and keep an average of 60fps or higher. :)

You should run some comparisons with your 670 SLI setup. ;)

V-Sync and input lag is just meh though. I am certainly not about to get into sync chat but for me it is horrid. Each to their in this instance but certainly 120Hz is looking the way for me.

The only time i don't use vsync is in twitch shooters. I happily used it for a year and a half in BF3 with no problems at all using the config i sent you. I'm sure the difference is probably more noticeable if you've moved from a 120hz screen though.

Do what some of us do and run a 120hz/144hz 1080p screen alongside a 1440p/1600p screen for general work and non-fps games like Civ V.

I cant wait to upgrade to 4k on my second screen but my 1080p screen will remain until 4k/120hz becomes viable in a few years.

Not a bad shout at all.

Don't have a 1440p screen :(
Also don't have many of those games.
I've also got 3 7950s that I'll be replacing my 670 SLI with when I get around to it (they're sitting in boxes along with their waterblocks). So I may well run some comparisons then (for the games I have).

This isn't a bad idea and I'm quite tempted by this next time I do a monitor upgrade. I've got 3 x 120Hz screens at the minute (although only use 2 as didn't like surround gaming and a 3 screen desktop is a bit overkill for my needs), didn't want the expense of replacing all of them, so maybe just replace 1. Give me a chance to get a DisplayPort monitor too (since AMD seem to think anyone with multiple monitors uses DP).

EDIT: On this note, what's the best price/performance 1440/1600 DisplayPort to be looking at? Preferably in the 24" region.
