AMD Radeon R9 290X with Hawaii GPU pictured, has 512-bit 4GB Memory

Yeah $550 to $600 is what AMD Said

So best case, or £450 to £470.

I hope you have a selection of gif's ready?

Did they say that though? I'm not sure they did. Just that they're not going to target titan price ranges. With the 7990 being £600-£700 once pricing goes up the 290X is going to sit below that.

I would speculate that AMD/DICE will demonstrate Battlefield 4 running on a 4k Display at 60fps, using two 290x cards. Whether they will have the balls to do it on stage is the question.

We know that a Titan will already push around 30fps in this res in BF3 Ultra, its not a big step for AMD/DICE to demonstrate this.

Gamers don't really understand the benefit of 1600p or 1440p over 1080p but they will understand the jump to 4k and Asus/AMD/NVidia will be making a lot of noise about it.

Sony and Nvidia have already started to flex their marketing budgets to beat the 4k drum so, it makes sense for the other company's and vendors to ride the coat tails.

I don't have a problem with dropping £2k on a high-end 4k monitor which lasts me for 4 years.

Edit: overclockersclub put this 4k/Asus gaming review up yesterday: http://www.overclockersclub.com/reviews/amd__nvidia_4k_gaming_with_the_asus_pq321q/8.htm

I stand corrected, its from Fudzilla. http://fudzilla.com/home/item/32199-amd-hawaii-will-be-priced-below-us-$600

According to our sources, which we simply cannot name due to obvious reasons, AMD plans to launch the upcoming Hawaii graphics card with a price that will be below US $600.
Unfortunately, the precise price is still not carved in stone but the general idea is to launch it at below US $600 so current best guess is that AMD might go for either US $599, $549 or even something in between. This price will put the new Hawaii based graphics card well below the Nvidia GTX 780 which is currently selling for around US $649 and higher.

This is also in line with AMD's recent move to cut the price of the HD 7990 Malta graphics cards down to US $699. While the upcoming Hawaii GPU based graphics card will be faster than the HD 7970 we doubt that it will get close to the HD 7990, at least not in games where HD 7990 actually works well in Crossfire.
Of course, bear in mind that AMD can change the price on the last day but we guess that we'll know for sure on 25th of September when AMD plans to officially unveil the new Hawaii GPU to the press in Hawaii.
We will, of course, keep our ear close to the ground as more rumors will surelly appear as we draw closer to the official date of the unveil.

humbugs price 450-470 sounds about right, then dropping after a while

on launch isnt it more about stock levels and price gouging in the uk?

Its going to be a massive anti-climax, here is the card and the specs but you have to wait 3 weeks for availability before you get to see any benchmarks other than the usual look and see how many Bungholio marks it can produce.:D

AMD should have handed out their cards to Review sites already right?
They'll be under NDA not to release any info until the announcement, would be silly any other way.

review sites would have had samples a while ago. theyll just wait for NDA to be over then publish results.

i think it will be faster than a 780gtx but not quite as fast as a titan and be about 450 - 500 plus on ass gouging week :D

No review until early october IMO, this is a press event for AMD to unravel their new series, some nice things regarding the BF4 and gaming if people had cards in mass we see even more leaks.
I expect new slides which shows Titan vs 290x and beating it.;)

WE even might have more questions after the event ;)

If the SteamBox turns out to be AMD-powered then Nvidia is gonna have more than just a (wood) screw loose. But they would have to go from **** to sugar with their Linux support.

Perhaps those dog tags come with collectors' edition?

Didn't Nvidia say they had no interest in the XB-One and PS4 because of low margins in them?

I wonder how they square that with the Steam Box, and what would they put in it? they have no CPU's of their own so they would have to use ARM and a Discrete GPU, i can't see it being a Tagra chip, not enough horse power.
