AMD RX 580 and RX 560 leak

For the first time ever, as long as I sell my 390 and a few other bits over the weekend, I will be buying a GPU on release day.

Probably the Powercolour Devil, but depends if OcUK will be handling the warranty still.

Why are they comparing it to the 300 series and not 400? I know, because it would show how **** of an upgrade it is. What a let down!

Hey @TonyTurbo78 I guess your prediction did not pan out in the end. If they price these close to £300 as you suggested, it will be LOL :p

I still have faith in my prediction of Vega however :D

Yeah, but I am a whisker away with my 390 on keeping 120FPS on BF1, on high settings. That annoys me for no real reason at all so I am hoping this resolves it, though it probably won't. :D
It wont if your problem is the CPU.

Apparently the all Medium default gives like a 40-50% increase in performance over Ultra, while High only gives 10%. Meaning there's probably a couple settings somewhere that you could turn down to Medium to make a decent improvement. And as BF1 still looks great even on Medium, you're unlikely to take any significant hit on visuals.

AMD is such a worse company that they are comparing a 3 year old GTX 970 with there mid range card, which is about to release. You can get a GTX 970 around $140-150 and comparing it with $250-270.

4790K so won't be that. I have tried it on medium, but I don't like it. Anyway, 390 is up for sale now so it's happening. That is unless I see a stocking deal on a 1070!

You miss the point of the slide. They are targeting people that upgrade every few years, which is what you will find is most people. It is just targeting those people that don't have £400 to burn on a 1070. People on these forums, especially in the GPU section are not the majority of gamers, they are the few that like spanking money on the latest and greatest.

Anyway, the 970 has proven itself over the long haul as being inferior to the 290/390.

Good point. Still not happy with the super small jump in performance though.

Oh and you are probably wasting your breath replying to doom. He is anything but objective. He just hates AMD and loves seeing them fumble/fail.

Year old rebrands coming in more expensive, I guess everybody will carry on buying the 1050 and 1060.

Nvidia doing it, but just getting vendors to release uprated men speeds and charging more then the old standard speeds whilst still selling both to capture every bracket under then sun haha

Been nvidia since MX days but hoping 500 pulls it out the bag with OC , want to see the Aorus 8+6Pin destroy the environment to get a good OC

I'm not saying to put it to the overall default Medium setting. Just that the big difference between the Medium and High presets indicates there's at least a couple settings somewhere that are creating that big difference. Look for which they are and you can probably get away with *mostly* High settings with one or two Medium ones, depending on how far away from your target you are.

And what's your point? Nvidia have the 1060 3GB which is the same performance as the 970 but with 1GB less VRAM, with some versions costing around the same price as a new GTX 970 back in the day and people actually buy it. Some people just don't want to take the risk with used graphics cards and that is understandable. You can get a 970 for dirt cheap now but it has no warranty, a higher chance of failure and an older architecture which may mean less driver support in the future. Consumers may as well pay the extra £30 just for those.
