***** AMD RX 7900 SERIES AVAILABLE & IN STOCK TODAY FROM 2PM ****(BACK ORDER UPDATES WITHIN THIS THREAD)*

The worst thing for me is I ordered a reference model at 13:51 it went thru , I didn't really want reference but I didn't think the aib were going on sale today when I saw one I placed a second order amid the website issues.

Now this is what has really got me two hours later I opened a web ticket and asked for the reference to be cancelled only if my aib order was secure as I was concerned due to website issues. I got an email saying it was cancelled but then obviously was part of the over order pool on the red devil. Had that been picked up by customer service correctly I'd at least have got the reference and had a refund on the one over ordered.

Why does it always rain on Barry?

In such circumstances with 100’s of orders coming in on a limited supply product it’s my advice to never cancel or change your order it’s adding another human to the mix and things can go wrong as they have unfortunately.

With so many cards on hand we did not expect this especially with mixed reviews but it seems people really love the XTX cards.

Once AIBs give me further details I’ll post here so people can decide what to do.

Interested to see what those in the same boat who have missed out today are planning. Refund switch or hold ?

Personally I can't wait 4 weeks as I don't have a gpu at moment. But I'm torn to either refund and just go get a reference 4080 as it's actually 100 quid less than what I paid for the xtx or just bite the bullet and get the 4090.
I'm prepared to wait it out. I've waited this long and I consider myself lucky to be in a position on the waiting list. I think the wait won't be too long. Of course I expect delays due to strikes, Christmas and New Year.. Can't be helped I guess.

I had a plan B in place beforehand and impulsively got carried away at 1400hrs today and figured I would go for it as I got super excited to see that the Nitro+ 7900XTX was in stock. I wasn't one of the 1st 9 but I have made the cut to the next delivery shipment. Hopefully buyers remorse won't settle in as I will be distracted anyway as I did have a backup plan.

At the end of the day, so many people here have sound advice, but ultimately you will go with what you feel best suits you and your current situation.

Hope this kind of helps. :)

Welcome back GM, long time. :)

I see you are still as annoying as you used to be back in the 290X days. :p
Thank you, nice to see I've not been completely forgotten.
I doubt you've changed much either, does anyone really change?

On a different note, sorry to hear so many people are having issues with their orders. Nicely done by Gibbo working so hard to let people know what's happened/happening with their order.
Easy for me to say when I've not been affected by this, but these things do happen. I'd have confidence that OcUK will be one of the better companies to resolve the issues where possible.

Reminds me of a similar experience I had when I tried to get the 3950x CPU on launch, used Amazon Pay as well. Ended up getting a 3900x which came with a packet of Haribo's ;)

To be honest, unless I have information on:
  • what number I am in the queue for the card I ordered
  • Have confirmation that those who ordered a different card will not be offered stock of the card I ordered ahead of me
  • Have confirmation of the numbers of cards (of the version I ordered) that are due to be delivered and the date these will be delivered - and so from this, assurance that I will receive it the following day
I don't see why OC should be trusted to hold onto my money whilst giving no commitment in return....so refund under these circumstances.

I think that's key to know how far down the que you are.

Based on what Iv read on here the card I ordered only had 8 in stock but 50 orders were taken. So who's to say if your 42 in the que of ppl that you get it on the next delivery. I mean if the manufacturer only sent 8 this time it's not likely that suddenly 100 are gonna come in.

whats annoyed me is that people who ordered earlier than others havent had their card shipped, whilst orders later have, so not sure how the process worked for shipping based on time stamp. instant to take the funds, but not give the order

It's always done in order of payment processed their end. This has been the same for at least half a decade with them.

So although your end might show it going out instantly the payment system still needs to process it. Some payment options are faster than others. So it will never be when monies leave your account from what you can see.

Was paid via PayPal which is instant?

Yes generally it's a few seconds. Unfortunately not always though. There are actually a lot of steps that happen for a payment to be processed and so there can be delays especially as a system say at OcUK takes payments from multiple places etc.

I made that mistaken assumption on the 5900X CPU release day. It turns out that Paypal payments go through a lot of steps between Paypal and the bank before actual approval is given to the retailer. So by the time my payment was actually approved at 4pm from 2pm, I was something like 1500th on the list of back orders, despite ordering within seconds of release.

In short, don't use Paypal for high demand items on release day. Get your Debit/Credit card ready to go.

I cannot even see your order sorry, is that number correct?

Thank you, I've not had my dinner yet and have a fire roaring, best not burn house down. :D

I think the new website is still having some issues as I am taking product off sale but it seems people who had it in basket, they were still been informed we had stock whereas the product order buttons were removed from product pages. :(
Sorry it has done this and I shall feed this back to the guys tomorrow.

I am working hard on getting these over sold orders fulfilled ASAP !
What tech is the website using, I was under the impression it would be AWS with and Queue service. that would probs fix purchasing issue in the future
