So why have you taken the money! Plus why accept and acknowledge an order 20 minutes later?

Amazon have taken the money not us, I will check this tomorrow as I’m home now but if it’s same bug issue as last time Amazon will auto refund you in 24-48hrs.

The problem is Amazon take the money but never send us the order and when they realise they auto refund.

It might not be the case but an order starting with ST is not our order number that is amazons who then send the order to us in normal circumstances at which point is changes to an OC order reference.

I’ll check tomorrow but if Amazon has messed up again I’ll request Amazon is removed from the website as a payment option or at the very least for product launches as it’s obvious Amazon has some odd issue.

I’ll see if I can see ST code on our systems.

You have order Powercolor which in this thread is advised against as we only had 20 units, we got your order at 14:12:20 from Amazon at which point those 20 had sold out.
Powercolor are working on getting us more and hope to provide an ETA by end of this week.

All customers who failed to get a card will be emailed tomorrow with options to wait, refund or change to a different GPU.
 
@Gibbo Can you confirm that my custom 7900XTX is due to be shipped tonight?

If an order has not shipped, that is because your now in a pre-order queue, custom cards in the first post in this thread state stock is near to none existent and expect volume in late January for custom cards.
@Gibbo , I haven't received the DPD mail yet, can you check if my order has been shipped please?

We have your order, we got it at 14:17.14 at which point they had all sold out, Sapphire will update us with an ETA for next batch in next day or two, if you wish to wait, otherwise request a refund.

Just to update:

XTX - If you placed an order today and it has not shipped, then you have missed out I am afraid to say.
We are working with suppliers to get ETAs for more stock which we should know in the next day or so.
Otherwise we can offer a refund or switch to a different GPU and be refunded or pay the difference.

XT Sapphire MBA is still in stock at £899 and remaining orders will ship tomorrow.
 
Agreed. That's why I ordered after as I refreshed my order a few times and it read in stock just before putting in card details to pay and this was after 15:00.

@Gibbo I just wanted to double check my order ST5189847 is not coming this week right?

Yes we have your order, we got it at 15:23.55 and I know as I did it personally that all order buttons were pulled by 14:30 on the XTX, so I don't even know how you manage to order one to be quite frank but it is not your issue that you got an order in.
I am working on getting more stock in ASAP and updated will be posted in this thread when manufacturers inform me shipment plans. Alternatively you can request a refund or change to a different GPU with customer services team on forum or by phone/webnote.

@Gibbo Thanks for the reply.

I added it to the basket right away and then went all the way to the payment method and left it hanging while I had to do something and get the card. I refreshed multiple times on the card information page to ensure it was still in stock (which it showed) and then just put in my card details and paid.

I think the new website is still having some issues as I am taking product off sale but it seems people who had it in basket, they were still been informed we had stock whereas the product order buttons were removed from product pages. :(
Sorry it has done this and I shall feed this back to the guys tomorrow.

I am working hard on getting these over sold orders fulfilled ASAP !

I still see this on OCUK, and Amazon Pay says its still being processed. No joke its 13:55:09.

Unfortunately we never got your order, its a glitch at Amazon end which they said they had sorted as this happened to around 250 customers on the 4090 launch, not that it is good news for you but so far your the only Amazon reported that we have not received.

Not that it helps you but this is Amazon mess up.

Totally not your fault, I will drop you a PM and if a alternative solution pops up I will offer it to yourself, but until I hear back from AIB's I have nothing right now to offer sorry.

Interested to see what those in the same boat who have missed out today are planning. Refund switch or hold ?

Personally I can't wait 4 weeks as I don't have a gpu at moment. But I'm torn to either refund and just go get a reference 4080 as it's actually 100 quid less than what I paid for the xtx or just bite the bullet and get the 4090.

Give me a couple of days to push AIBs as 4080s and 4090s will still be in stock then.
 
The worst thing for me is I ordered a reference model at 13:51 it went thru , I didn't really want reference but I didn't think the aib were going on sale today when I saw one I placed a second order amid the website issues.

Now this is what has really got me two hours later I opened a web ticket and asked for the reference to be cancelled only if my aib order was secure as I was concerned due to website issues. I got an email saying it was cancelled but then obviously was part of the over order pool on the red devil. Had that been picked up by customer service correctly I'd at least have got the reference and had a refund on the one over ordered.

In such circumstances with 100’s of orders coming in on a limited supply product it’s my advice to never cancel or change your order it’s adding another human to the mix and things can go wrong as they have unfortunately.

With so many cards on hand we did not expect this especially with mixed reviews but it seems people really love the XTX cards.

Once AIBs give me further details I’ll post here so people can decide what to do.
 
I made that mistaken assumption on the 5900X CPU release day. It turns out that Paypal payments go through a lot of steps between Paypal and the bank before actual approval is given to the retailer. So by the time my payment was actually approved at 4pm from 2pm, I was something like 1500th on the list of back orders, despite ordering within seconds of release.

In short, don't use Paypal for low stop high deman items on release day. Get your Debit/Credit card ready to go.

To be honest you are right and on previous launches I’ve adviced people to only pay with debit/credit card, totally forgot that tip but at the same time I’m still in shock as to how we sold so many so quick.

No Covid, No mining, cost of living yet the sales were insane and I’m glad that the new website at least still allowed me to pull product otherwise we would have pre-sold thousands.

Apologies to those who missed out, I’ll be fighting like crazy for more stock and getting it into us as quick as we can.

Future launches, it seems best way is don’t use Amazon, PayPal or finance, use a debit / credit card and only buy one card.
 
Well, just noticed a whatsapp from a buddy at work that he ordered a 7900 XTX that is confirmed for delivery.

Nothing wrong with that normally, apart from the fact this guy just loves tinkering with his PC and due to a massive case of FOMO, ordered three seperate 4090s from three separate suppliers on release day. Then scrambled to cancel two of them as he assumed (wrongly) that they would sell out instantly. So now it seems he didn't just cancel two of those 4090s, he ended up returning the last one to wait for the 4080 because the 4090 cost was excessive.

So now he wants to know if I will buy the 4080 if he decides to keep the 7900 XTX because the 4080 is outside DSR period. I said that I would not go over £900 and he said OK.

So a bit impuslive of me really as I think £900 is still a bit much but let's see. I know he will be good for the warranty returns if ever needed.

A 4080 with warranty for £900 is a bargain !
