***** AMD RX 7900 SERIES AVAILABLE & IN STOCK TODAY FROM 2PM ****(BACK ORDER UPDATES WITHIN THIS THREAD)*

Hmmm, now I know my PSU can actually hit 140% before OPP kicks in... I'm tempted by the Nitro. @Gibbo can you confirm it's the quietest of the bunch of 7900 XTX? (Yes, I'm a silence freak these days, so sue me :p)

I've not listened to any of the cards, so no idea but judging by its 4090 equalling size I'd hazard a guess that it is probably the best performing cooler and quietest cooler of them all, plus Sapphire have always delivered on build quality and it certainly looks and feels well constructed. :)

Post here that you would like to upgrade and you'd happily pay the £250 upgrade fee, then I shall drop you guys a PM and do the upgrade for you or get a member of sales of call you, but with how busy they are it might be a case of wait until next week and I shall just keep some stock on hand and not sell it all so some people can do upgrades.
Good News. I was intended to order a Nitro but the system rejected my payment:mad:. I would like to upgrade from my Sapphire XTX Pulse order so I can get it earlier:D.

Sounds like someone needs a custom water loop...

I'd like to, but from what I can tell, two factors prohibit me from going custom water:

1. Maintenance. When it finally does roll around, it doesn't sound like it's a quick thing to do, and sounds more like it's going to be one of those take a full day to sort out thing (and needs space). I don't have that type of time (or space) on hand these days. I'm virtually up most of the 24 hours during the day, looking after my elderly mobility hampered (fall prone) mother, prepping + cooking food, cleaning, maintenance of the rest of the household, helping her reach the loo when she needs it and her legs are giving way (a lot of the time). I barely have time to do anything else during the day.

2. Total newb to custom water. I don't trust myself with going custom, as I've never done it before and won't know what to go for (that's best for my scenario) and whether I've done it right or not (subequently, the cost involved and I'd rather not spend and spend getting the "right item" after I realise the stuff I obtained already doesn't quite match my scenario). And I'd rather not have something get damaged as a result of me being new to doing custom water. If this was 7-8 years ago, I'd have done so as not only was it cheaper to replace stuff, I had a LOT more time to myself (and space that I could carefuly do stuff in, that's not the case anymore).

So unfortunately, it's a pipe dream I'd like to do. But for now, it has to be simple air cooling. Hence, asking about the Sapphire Nitro edition. My alternative card is basically the Asus Noctua 3070 8GB. It's a semi-side-upgrade from my RX580 8GB (Same VRAM size). But it's cores allow me to use it better in Deep Learning as I delve into that area in spare time whilst also keeping things as silent as possible.

I find that a little odd really. Doesn't the 7900XTX outperform the 4080 outside of RT?
If it were me I'd go for a 3rd party 7900XTX over a 4080 at this point.
From the tests I've seen they are roughly on par in rasterization but you miss a lot of benefits such as RT performance, DLSS, CUDA, lower power consumption, :Ddrivers:D etc.

Hi @Gibbo

I was 177 in the queue for the sapphire mba. If a free upgrade was made available to the pulse version. (Which is a fantastic idea) how likely would you be able to back fill to number 177 in the pulse? Did sapphire say they can back fill 200 custom cards?

The XTX versions especially in UK are like gold dust now. So getting 200 cards available ( 177 in my case) seems highly unlikely,

appreciate the hard work you’re doing mate on the forums keeping people the waiting customers updated, especially with all the other work I bet you got going on.

And in stock at OcUK. :D

You convinced me. I ordered a Sapphire MBA XT. At 1440p I’m not sure I will see the benefit of going for an XTX. £300/£400 to move up is a lot of money to me. And I fancy playing with an XT, better in my mATX machine I think. Lower power draw, slightly smaller etc.

I’m convinced there’s more to come for these cards, if you look at the raw specs of even the XT is should be substantially more powerful than a 6950XT. Hoping for some of that fine wine…

Saying that I can game quite happily with a 6700XT at 1440p you'll have no problems doing so with a 7900XT. :)

Reading more reviews in the end convinced me - at 1440p the XT is highly competitive with the 4080 in lots of situations. It falls off 4k slightly but I think that’s due to its reliance on infinity cache.

I just don’t fancy paying another 300/400 for a XTX. I would have had a XTX MBA but I missed out.

I’m sure the XT will be a nice card for a while, maybe I will look again at the inevitable refresh for the 4000/7000 series.

Like I say I’m also convinced the drivers will improve. The XT has really good specs compared to even the 6950, much much higher bandwidth, same/more cores, more vram…hoping the driver team can work out how to fully utilise it better.

We have sold and shipped over 500 XTX so far, so it’s fair to say OcUK is no.1 in U.K. by miles for stock.

Sapphire will get us enough XTX to cover all back orders whether it’s an MBA or Pulse card.

Drivers will always improve as with the 6000 series. Might sell up the 6800XT and pull the trigger on a 7900XT after Christmas is done with.

I'd go for the 4080 FE, even at £200 more, seems in stock now. RT & DLSS swing it for me over the 7900 XTX.
Esp if 7900 XTX Nitro is same price as 4080 FE, even easier then.

I can see the argument for sure. I’m just a bit of an AMD fan boy I suppose. And in the end I just really fancy trying a 7000 card out. I also love the smaller size of the MBA cards. Don’t have to worry about the new 12 pin connector, don’t have to worry about the size of my mATX build etc etc.

Plus, 300 quid is a lot of money to me to be honest. It’s not an insubstantial amount. That’s a CPU upgrade.
