We had this issue with 4090's but that was like 250 orders which Amazon just messed up and then refunded.
We have no idea why it happens and seems a glitch Amazon's end on product launches with high volume of basket transactions.

Amazon assured us it was fixed, seems not the case and means we will probably have to remove that payment facility for future product launches.

I think its not about the money at this point, I really need a card to use...

Does it mean I need to go for the 7900xt now...

If I was willing to spend £1k ish I would get 4080. Better thermals & less noise, much better ray tracing, better driver support, less risk. AMD should have priced them at £1k and £800 respectively and they would still have full coffins and loads of people switching to AMD from Nvidia.

After making such huge sacrifices in order to get a card, if yours doesn't turn up I'll give you mine.

Man it's really sad for me, not kidding.

I called off today's event to get the card. I was literally f5-ing the whole time.

Then I ordered the reference 7900xtx, everything looks ok. Amazon still shows nothing wrong right now.

Then I also called off tomorrow's stuff to play with the 7900xtx.

Now I only get the 7900XT and god knows when.
 
What I don't understand is most sites have a system that reserves stock in the basket but gives you a limited time to check out , had that been in place here many of us would have not ended up with unrealistic expectations

Amazon pulled my money out of my account within the last 20min or so. It will show in Amazon under Amazon Pay. If that payment is still in process you should be okay - Well to keep the order it might not be tomorrow though. Same boat here, I don't have a working GPU currently. Hopefully stock arrives soon

It also didn't help that their site was lagging like a 3 toed sloth to add to the frustration. Yes you are right tho, better systems reduce the chance of false expectations, people getting ****** off and Overclockers ending up looking like a set of shysters, taking money for product they don't actually have.

Haven't received anything from OCUK even though I've got confirmation from my fellow discorder that his order was already dispatched even though his order confirmation came 10 min later than mine (Sapphire MBA). If I miss out (by some unprecedented turn of events) I will cancel my order I don't have the nerve to wait another month for the card to arrive.

what's your order number mate? mine seems also missed the cut off time. They shouldn't really oversell at all.

@Gibbo Said the wait for another MBA from Sapphire was only 1-2 weeks as another batch are due in.

So I ordered a reference 7900xtx and a nitro+, both of which I assumed I had actually secured. I can see the reference has been shipped but the nitro+ hasn't. I'm assuming it's going to be about a week before I get the nitro? ST5189153
I was going to cancel the reference card since I thought I got lucky with the nitro card. Can I just return the reference when the nitro arrives? Upsetting because I booked today and the rest of the week off work
I even called to cancel my reference order!

So i did manage to get an order through.. on the "basic" sapphire 7900xtx... whats worst case scenario for stock and delivery looking like? Assuming its one of the later backlogged orders?
