AMD Ryzen 7 5800X 3D Cache Eight Core 4.5GHz (Socket AM4) Processor - Retail - Go Go Go xD

My 5700X failed to boot with 1.2.0.6c for a few times. Rolled back to 1.2.0.3 Patch C and no problem yet.

If 5800X3D will definitely require 1.2.0.6c then it's gonna be a test.

Isn't 1.2.0.3 a pre 5700X bios? That's interesting if it is, suggests that boards can still boot unknown CPUs (unless they were added before officially released, obviously).

Yes. Asrock tech support told me that for 5700X to boot (despite it being recently released), the minimum version to boot was 1.0.8.0 Patch A (back when Vermeer was released in 2020, such like the 5900X etc), but they strongly recommend updating to 1.2.0.6b for 5700X.

Didn't ask about 5800X3D.

Wow, that's cool and useful to know for 5500/5600/5700X buyers. Must be positive news for 5800X3D users, at least. From what I'm aware of, Intel systems will not boot with unknown CPUs post-775 because the ME is completely locked down.

Nice.
I got confirmation in the end that my 13:55 order yesterday missed the cutoff and they over sold by 20 but 50 are due in today so should get allocated.
Again, disappointed that others with later orders got theirs but should still be sorted for this weekend :)

Just got to figure out what to do with my old Ryzens, I have an 1800X, 3900X and 5800X. Might just add them to my CPU archive lol.

My keyboard died after updating the BIOS, started flashing all the RGB keys. Not responding so can’t enter the BIOS after cpu installation.:o

Luckily I have a spare but not an ideal start. First time for everything I guess.

Mine just arrived but have to wait till tomorrow for my new thermal paste to arrive before I can benchmark this in some games! Anyone had a chance to test this out yet?

New fangled USB keyboards!

I used to keep an old PS/2 keyboard just in case. Old tech is sometimes still useful. Although it did mainly get used for bootable tools back when some kernels didn't always have full USB support.

Long way to go, but early indications are I might be able to get 4000Mhz/2000Mhz FCLK stable.

I had a WHEA error to start with, but have been gradually increasing SOC and IOD voltage, IOD can get close to but not exceed SOC voltage.

First WHEA error was at 3%, adjusted voltage next WHEA at 170%, adjusted voltage next WHEA at 250%, adjusted voltage and currently at 336% WHEA free.

I will run a quick game benchmark for comparison to my 5950X to wet the appetite of those waiting for theirs to arrive.

Then I'll rebuild my system as I've not even applied thermal paste to the 5800X3D, my system is in bits. :D

Measuring the CPU results from the above.

Min FPS: 5800X3D 19% faster
Avg FPS: 5800X3D 17% faster

Need to properly tune the 5800X3D memory next, apply some thermal paste between the cooler and the CPU (I wanted to quickly get some results out) and then reinstall the OS.

All black reference Radeon, and its fat.

Did you get a 2000Mhz 1:1 fabric clock on the 5800X3D?

despite the gains are you not gimping the 5800x3d as after 1800mhz FLCK the mem and FLCK clock are not longer 1:1 ?
