AMD Ryzen 7 5800X 3D Cache Eight Core 4.5GHz (Socket AM4) Processor - Retail - Go Go Go xD

Me three (13:53) :D

Hype time, gonna polish up all of those review / deep dive numbers.

Got everything built now. Put some liquid metal on the CPU, dropped about 30c vs no paste for my previous Shadow of The Tomb Raider benchmark.
Quick test of Shadow of The Tomb Raider, 1080P lowest settings.

Measuring the CPU results from the above.

Min FPS: 5800X3D 19% faster
Avg FPS: 5800X3D 17% faster

Need to properly tune the 5800X3D memory next, apply some thermal paste between the cooler and the CPU (I wanted to quickly get some results out) and then reinstall the OS.
Rebuilt my system, applied Liquid metal to the CPU. CPU temps 25c+ lower Lol vs no paste.

CPU temp reached 52c running SOTTR benchmark at 4K/ Arctic Freezer 360 fans running at 900RPM, intake.

A 4K run this time vs my tuned 5950X.

Measuring the CPU results from the above.

Min FPS: 5800X3D 26% faster
Avg FPS: 5800X3D 21% faster

Those results are higher than I expected. I think my earlier results might be off for the 5800X3D due to the high CPU temps which were in the low high 70s to low 80s.

Now about to reinstall Windows 10 and 11 on my two drives to see if that improves performance further.

I ordered 13:59
I wondered what was happening so contacted support as the status was on ordered.
They said they have no stock and no ETA and would i like a refund.

But then 7 minutes later i got an email saying shipped. :/

They said it would be around 15% with gains of anything from 0 to 30%, aside from 1 or 2 out-layers of nearer 40% that's exactly how its turned out.

For once the claims are justified. I've seen so many launches before where the performance increases haven't matched the initial claims.

You and i have a very different take on it :)

They said Zen 1 would be 40% faster than Excavator: result was actually 52%, much higher than even that in games.
They said Zen + would be 10% faster than Zen, it was
They said Zen 2 would be 19% faster than Zen +, again, it was and then some... especially in games.
They said Zen 3 would be 19% faster than Zen 2, again it was and up to 46% faster in games.

The highest bench difference i got 3900x to 5900x @ stock core was a 73% increase in Total War: Warhammer II. The top MMO and RTS games (WoW, FF14, SC2) were all >50% as well.

The IPC increases stated by AMD have been a geomean of many workloads and they've massively exceeded them in games, especially cache/mem heavy ones. Can't wait to test A vs B vs C vs D configs w/ the x3d.

Oh well. I'll stick with my 5900X for now. It was a pretty big leap over my 3900X anyway.

Still a very good CPU. I'm going from 3700X > 5800X 3D so a fairly big jump. I thought about a 5900X but I don't really do any production so those extra cores probably won't benefit me.

I wish I had bought one of these rather than procrastinating about selling the 5950x.

DO you think scalpers are buying these too?

Really need to check forums and ebay to see if idiots are re-selling them....
