AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D

It should be relatively close even if AMD/Windows haven't figured out the core parking issues. And for some crazy reason I thought it was out at the end of January but now it turns out to be march time? I sold my 7800x3D as I got the timing wrong.
Looks like you're getting a 9800x3d then!

Would someone please confirm whether it is better to disable/enable or set to 'auto' Global c-State Control as I am seeing so many conflicting opinions. I have seen a few people recommend it set to 'enable' online to reduce games stuttering.
i use it on enabled and no issues with performance or any stuttering, its supposed to allow the cores to be turned off when not needed to save power at idle and so on. if your having stuttering what monitoring software are you using if any?

I use HW Monitor but only as and when so it is not in background. I only built my 9800x3d build last week and noticed almost immediately some stuttering and did a few things I read to improve things. I have disabled x3d mode in my msi x670e tomahawk m/board and also have increased virtual memory in Windows, which I think has also helped. Along my Internet travels I saw a couple YT vids and a few posts at different places, with some saying disable Global C-state option in bios, and others saying enable.

you could always try it both ways to see if it improves. reason i asked about the monitoring software is there was reports of afterburner causing stuttering from memory in some scenarios. have you checked event log for any errors at the time of stuttering? another thing i can think of the top of my head, when it stutters do you get any usb disconnect?

Hi there does anyone know why i cant get stable 2200 fclk im trying to get 1.1 ratio as its plenty for me.....
i dont know what voltages i need or what setting i need to change to get 2200 stable... i can get into windows but running cinebench causeing system to freeze.... also the memory i have is : gskill hynix memory, i dont even know what the highest safe voltage is for this memory, on a asus x870e hero with 9800x3d.
last motherboartd i had was a msi godlike x570 so im pretty new to all the advanced features of this motherboard....
It's likely the CPU doesn't support higher than 2133MHz FCLK, see this post.

You have Hynix M die 24Gb which is not the same RAM IC as Hynix M die 16Gb.

Regardless the Hynix M die 24Gb is decent RAM IC to tweak, my DDR5 Tuning cheat sheet link in the post.

I'm currently using a 9600X on TUF X670E WiFi with Patriot Viper Venom DDR5 7000C32 2x16GB (Hynix A die).

Below is what I've used, just as rough guide for you.

6000C28 (GDM On, 1:1) FCLK 2133 SOC 1.05V VDDP 0.925V VDD=VDDQ=VDDIO 1.35V
6200C28 (GDM On, 1:1) FCLK 2133 SOC 1.1V VDDP 0.950V VDD=VDDQ=VDDIO 1.4V
6400C28 (GDM On, 1:1) FCLK 2133 SOC 1.2V VDDP 1.05V VDD=VDDQ=VDDIO 1.45V

I also have a Crosshair X670E Hero, 9700X and 9800X3D, these 3 not used yet, my time has all been spent with profiling above.

9800x3D has 8 cores, it's not great for productivity.

It's a gaming orientated CPU really
Yeah i want it for gaming but the mrs does lots of rendering for work she usualy uses all apple stuff mostly a m3 mac mini iirc

As I'm planning my new pc and thinking I'm going to get the 9800x3d seeing that I wondered if it was worth maybe waiting just so she could maybe use the pc when she's here or after I move and I'm at work etc.
