Did you clear CMOS after installing the new cpu?Yes it's on the list & works fine with my current CPU. Worked fine prior to the upgrade & working fine now since I switched back

Yeah, I it is.Stupid question, @Mr_MObbs, but I assume you updated the BIOS
Is this a setting in the bios? I've not heard of it before.
Looks like you're getting a 9800x3d then!It should be relatively close even if AMD/Windows haven't figured out the core parking issues. And for some crazy reason I thought it was out at the end of January but now it turns out to be march time? I sold my 7800x3D as I got the timing wrong.
i use it on enabled and no issues with performance or any stuttering, its supposed to allow the cores to be turned off when not needed to save power at idle and so on. if your having stuttering what monitoring software are you using if any?Would someone please confirm whether it is better to disable/enable or set to 'auto' Global c-State Control as I am seeing so many conflicting opinions. I have seen a few people recommend it set to 'enable' online to reduce games stuttering.
Only close in pure gamingIt should be relatively close even if AMD/Windows haven't figured out the core parking issues. And for some crazy reason I thought it was out at the end of January but now it turns out to be march time? I sold my 7800x3D as I got the timing wrong.
I use HW Monitor but only as and when so it is not in background. I only built my 9800x3d build last week and noticed almost immediately some stuttering and did a few things I read to improve things. I have disabled x3d mode in my msi x670e tomahawk m/board and also have increased virtual memory in Windows, which I think has also helped. Along my Internet travels I saw a couple YT vids and a few posts at different places, with some saying disable Global C-state option in bios, and others saying enable.i use it on enabled and no issues with performance or any stuttering, its supposed to allow the cores to be turned off when not needed to save power at idle and so on. if your having stuttering what monitoring software are you using if any?
you could always try it both ways to see if it improves. reason i asked about the monitoring software is there was reports of afterburner causing stuttering from memory in some scenarios. have you checked event log for any errors at the time of stuttering? another thing i can think of the top of my head, when it stutters do you get any usb disconnect?I use HW Monitor but only as and when so it is not in background. Sorry that’s what I meant, in productivity the 9950x3d will exceed the 9800x3dOnly close in pure gaming
By how much?Sorry that’s what I meant, in productivity the 9950x3d will exceed the 9800x3d
probably the same as the jump from 9800x to 9950xBy how much?
probably the same as the jump from 9800x to 9950x
I dont sorry, but im certain there are others on this forum that doIf you've got any experience any idea how much the difference would be for cpu rendering in things like keyshot or rhino?

Wow so quite a significant jump!
It's likely the CPU doesn't support higher than 2133MHz FCLK, see this post.![]()
Hi there does anyone know why i cant get stable 2200 fclk im trying to get 1.1 ratio as its plenty for me.....
i dont know what voltages i need or what setting i need to change to get 2200 stable... i can get into windows but running cinebench causeing system to freeze.... also the memory i have is : gskill hynix memory, i dont even know what the highest safe voltage is for this memory, on a asus x870e hero with 9800x3d.
last motherboartd i had was a msi godlike x570 so im pretty new to all the advanced features of this motherboard....
Yeah i want it for gaming but the mrs does lots of rendering for work she usualy uses all apple stuff mostly a m3 mac mini iirc9800x3D has 8 cores, it's not great for productivity.
It's a gaming orientated CPU really
