AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D

I set mem to 1.45V and did the extreme 1 test on testmem 5. after 15 minutes peak temp was 57.5 degrees. and found "1" error... So what now? do the 6200 thing ig? but keep the voltage at 1.45V?

DDR5 can tend to error over 55degrees, so you’ll either have to put a fan over the ram, or back off the voltage. Given its close on the test suggests you can easily achieve 6400 with slightly more voltage, but only if the cooling is adequate.

Until you can cool it better, I’d shoot for 6000 with tight timings. CL28 etc.

not how the real world works my place orders print of the guys pick the orders in-between the printer and the warehouse they could end up in any order

now if the system is completely digital then it would be first come first served
When OCUK has said orders are shipped due to when people ordered (the waves) then yes, I would hope it is how it works in this instance...

It was literally stated that us that ordered before 14:15 are the ones that will get chips first.
If someone ordered at 3pm and got theirs before us that ordered straight away then We (that are in wave 1) would have a right to be annoyed.

Pretty sure your worrying over nothing.

Can't see them screwing up that much. The initial wave is all likely to get processed, packaged up and sent out asap, subject to the usual checks after taking delivery, with your delivery method deciding when it actually turns up at your door.

My advice, stop worrying and find something else to do until oc updates us :)

You got a very very early order in so stop worrying. Your brain will get that dopamine hit soon enough when it's in your hands ;)

I only pop on every now and then to see if there are any updates. Rest of the time I'm using my pc as normal. :p

Just been bitten before by promises that turned out to be unfulfilled (not by OCUK. They have always been reliable so far)

I know the feeling all too well :)

And to be honest I'm sitting here refreshing this and the ETA thread far too often. Lots of info out there now but I'm really looking forward to putting it through some testing myself. Especially for emulation and some cpu limited games I have. First world problems eh?

Well yea, duh. If someone has a 7800X3D already upgrading to a 9800X3D is probably not worth it outside of very specific cases.

Well yeah, duh. So if someone who upgrades every 3 or 4 years how will they know if they will see a difference, if all the reviews show is 720p or 1080p settings.

Same for me. Emulation 4x titles and sim games :)

First world problems literally are the worst. Give me poverty over this stress any day. /S

I reduced voltage to 1.4350 still at 6400 mhz. it gave 7 errors within 20 seconds of running testmem 5.. memory 39.5 degrees.
Then I reduced voltage to 1.4250 at 6200 mhz 40 minutes testmem 5 without errors. max 56 degrees

If someone wants to shut up the haters about low-res testing, you can do Troy Total War @ 4K (it's also one of the few games that does scale CPU load with resolution from what I can see; so 720p tests wouldn't be as representative). Just put two AI armies to fight each other and even my now puny RX 6800 is sleeping waiting on the R5 7600 to process things (can drop below 30 fps easily during the clash; also tactical view by default gonna cut it in half if you want even more load on the CPU). This game is bruuutal on the CPU, holyf! (must enable extreme settings, particularly grass)
