AMD Six Core Prices and Clock Speeds Unearthed

those 6cores look very nice.
Any idea if i could get proper 5850 Cross Fire in a CoolerMaster Scout Case and does the new Asus Motherboards support that - i believe mine doesnt :(

so might look at a nice big upgrade with a New MotherBoard, CPU and maybe a second 5850 on the cards - should all of that fit in my tiny case :)
 
nice to see AMD with something up their sleeve.

Intel have had dominance at the top end of the cpu market for a while now. AMD need something that pushes nehalem, even if its not across the whole benchmark suite. the 920 is getting kinda old now yet still represents the best enthusiast cpu and the i5 750 is your best for enthusiasts on a budget.

I like it when competitors better each other every 6months to push innovation.

Altho for those that hate monopoly, what happens if AMD produce the best cpus and gpus?
 
Remember it is not just the cpu price that counts. The ram it uses and the motherboards have to be cost effective too.

I have just bought an i5 rig, but if I hadn't I would be looking at these hex cores.

As we have all seen with the latest NVidia cards, I will only draw judgement when the I see UK prices at OCUK and other etailers, along with reviews on the bigger name review websites.
The hype around the NVidia cards was massive but the card performance is nowhere near what people thought.
 
probably with a bios update, maybe not even that?


i do get a sense that people may be underestimating amd builds, on the results of countless reviews with games benchmarked a good overclocked x4 amd will keep with an intel that costs twice as much... and that money saved can grab you a new gfx card and you can run it at a proper 16 lanes on both cards as opposed to the P55 8x 8x

I think a strong 3.2ghz 6 core amd cpu clocked to a stable 3.8ghz will be more than sufficient for gamers, its still Six times 3800MHZ FFS !

I'm waiting for these hexacores to arrive so i can upgrade, but i swear if the prices are the typical UK rip off i will just buy a 920 or something.
