Why do Noctua persist in using that godawful colour scheme.

Deal breaker for me.

Looks like something you'd use in a toilet.

I don't think the colour scheme is nasty, but would agree they could do a lot better in the style departmenet. Classic black, silver, white or black/red etc would look much better.

Noctua do Black/Brown fans. The Cream/Brown numbers are included with the heatsinks. To be fair, most people don't have windowed cases so those who care about looks will probably be likely to buy replacement fans.

Swore I saw someone say the other day on here that Zen+ would be compatibly with X399? I thought Zen+ was for the AM4 platform?

They said 3 gens on AM4 I believe. I think people get confused by cores (Zen) and the product line (Ryzen). Threadripper and Epyc are using Zen cores too, but different socket/s and fabric

Ditto. Would never even consider it based puerly on its looks.
Most people have a "theme" on their PC. i.e that Red and black, blue and white etc. This fan colour fits none of them. ...Unless of course you happen to be going with the "hearing aid and cows placenta" colour theme.

Noctua always remind me of the "Rover James" they built in Top Gear. And they deliberately picked the colour to appeal to old people. :D

I beg to differ. I would say most people who pay the premium for a Noctua fan DO have windowed cases. Noctua is a high end (and expensive) fan bought by enthusiasts. Most enthusiasts would have windowed cases I suspect.

Couldn't give a toss about looks, Noctua tend to offer among the best performance/noise ratio, albeit at a pretty steep price.

Really? For what purpose? I guess showing off at LAN parties and the general cool factor. Personally, my PC is under the desk anyway since I prefer not to take up valuable desk space.

id be more baffled why people would go for a normal heatsink fan setup on these. not like they will be the coolest of cpu's to run.

If it's used in a business then water cooling isn't normally used.

Water leaks Air doesnt

Massive Workstations (Dell/HP) & other industries will go Air. i will be going Air too

depending on the heat being put out by them i wouldnt be surprised if more people went liquid cooled this time around.
