Should be interesting too see if the way that the cooler is assembled on the 4870 will allow for the metal plate that covers the ram chips to be left on while separate cooling could be applied to the core like it could on the r600....

I think NVidia is finally in for butt whooping. It is good to see the underdog come up trumps again after so long in the wilderness. NVidia will be forced to lower GTX2x0 prices considerably to compete at the mid-high end.

edit: I wonder how cheap/competitive OcUK prices will be on Day 1? I remember the days when they were automatic choice for cheapest first day product releases............... Here's hoping.
