I would think half that budget should do it.god willing hoping to pick up a 7950x and a asus crosshair x670e and some 6200-6600mhz ddr5, got 2.5-3k ready but hopefully dont need to spend that much, but before that reviews will show all if good then its a done deal

Be careful with asus, the z690 asus boards were horrible.
Considering Zen4 launches 10? months later than 12th gen - I'd hope it's faster in ST both at stock and overclocked (ignoring LN2 here). It really should be IMO, or will be very disappointing, especially considering it's not wasting silicon space on a DDR4 controller.

I dont know man, OCed it's pretty trivial to get the 12900k at 5.7-5.8ghz on 3 core workloads, so yeah - i dont expect the zen 4 to match the ST performance oc vs oc. But stock yeah, it probably will get up there according to the leaked boost clockspeeds

From what I’ve heard there won’t be any 2dimm atx boards so max mem tune will be somewhat limited. Maybe they’ll come later but nothing around launch.

Its obvious why though, less strain on board from PCI-E as no need to meet the specific of the 5.0 requirements that AMD have set, for the 670/E boards.
wouldnt stop me if anything that should mean they wont make the same mistake

I'm going to guess £250, i can't see it being much less than that or much more than that, the 12600K, which is what its competing with is £300.
