The best benchmark of all though are real world benchmarks, you know games and productivity. Those are what matters even Intel said that around the Gen10 releaseDoesn't geekbench benefit from AVX512 which the 12900k doesn't have?
it showed 2025+ so doesnt mean it could just be upto 2025Interesting seeing amd move to Intel's tick tock approach for motherboards. Support to 2025 and the time the CPUs are out we are going to be into 2023, only 2 years of support then onto amd6. Not only that but not a single benchmark of the 5800x3d Vs the 7700x? Are they worried that there competing with themselves?
Kinda confused but definitely will be interesting when gamer nexus gets the reviews out.
Will be interesting to see if AMD plan to lock down some overclocking features on some of the boards since they now plan to have extreme versions of both X and B series.Interesting seeing amd move to Intel's tick tock approach for motherboards. Could be upto 2025 then software support then after.it showed 2025+ so doesnt mean it could just be upto 2025
Only the crypto sub-score in Geekbench uses AVX512. It's only 5% of the overall score.Doesn't geekbench benefit from AVX512 which the 12900k doesn't have?
For me the Motherboards are main unknown at the moment, I would normally go B range route, I find that they give great value and barely skimp on features I want, but with the new BxxxE range squeezed in above I do wonder if the B's will be overly gimped.
Very impressive from AMD, also RDNA 3 GPU is confirmed as being chiplets based. If I get anything it will be X3D 8 core (the X3D 16 core will be too expensive for me I expect).Soooo what we all ordering. As I have no PC I am going for 7700X unless 4k benchmarks can justify the jump to another.
Probably early to mid next year for the X3D Zen 4 8 core and 16 core versions (this is dependent on Intel, if Raptorlake is particularly good then X3D could come out this year). A 7950X will almost certainly be fine for even the highest end next gen cards, but if you want the absolute best performance in certain games, particularly at aggressive levels of DLSS or low resolution then wait for the X3D.I actually think I’m jumping to AMD this year, I like the idea that I can add a chip in for the next few years.
The only thing is, what chip? I keep hearing about this 5800x3D chip and how it’s great for gaming, assuming they will do the same for this but realistically do you think it will come out this year?
With power and what not I’m thinking of going from a two pc setup to a one pc setup for content creation etc so trying to work out if I should go down the 7950x route or wait for the x3D.
