I read that as, the cards lie
ASUS showing off how well it performs on their produts etc.

but with Vega, I dont think they have the best option for early leaks as vendors could in theory produce a much better product . but could be wrong.
Whats the chances Vega over clocks really well and surprises everyone in that respect

Vega part of the 500 series.

AMD's Vega GPUs will ship in Q2 2017

AMD has announced that their first Vega-based GPUs will ship in Q2 2017, hinting at a launch window between May and June. This will no doubt disappoint those that hoped for an earlier launch for Vega, especially those who do not want to go down the Nvidia route when looking for a high-end GPU.

Right now it is unknown if they plan on launching their Vega series GPUs as an extension of the Polaris RX 400 series, launching as an RX 490 or a 4-Series RX Fury Series GPU. Alternatively, Vega could launch as part of AMD's RX 500-series of GPUs, perhaps as an RX 590.

In Q1 2017, it seems that AMD will be focusing on the launch of their Ryzen CPUs and their AM4 motherboard platform, leaving Vega's announcement for later in the year where it can have more of a spotlight, as well as give the company additional time to polish their drivers and finalise the GPU's design (finalise clock speeds, power consumption etc).

Edit:

Just seen I was very slow lol :D

Small vega to beat the gtx 1080 for £350.

Big vega to beat titan x pascal for £500.
Maybe a bit more in the UK with the way things are, but tend to agree with you, with Nvidia price gauging (the previous gen had already stagnated for a couple years) and Pascal will be 1 year old . Still profitable at thise prices . If AMD have some magic sauce, could be better

That is not surprising as their cpu is more important to them, and we don't know how Vega performs if small Vega is in fact replacing P10 then it could give a nice boost from the 470/80 and leave large Vega to higher Pascal refresh.

It's almost completely speculation just now, but they've shown it playing several games upwards of 60fps at 4k. I would say that gives us a rough area to work from.

On Fury drivers. Not optimised and lacking support for the MANY changes Vega brings. they've learned many lessons these last few years, hopefully it goes as well as Zen seems to be.

All you benchers out there, soon its not going to cost £1000 for 16thread 3Dmark scores, its will cost a third of that :D

Yeah I am hoping it lives up to the potential. Competition is good for everyone and I will be building 2 PC's come May/June. I will take the best I can get for about £1200 so I hope for some solid competition from both sides!

No such CPU as a 6960X.:D

Figures look dodgy too as you score a lot more using a single core than you do using all of them.

Here is my 6950X (a real CPU) running @4.0 using 1 and 10 cores in the Firestrike Physics test.

I think it'll be a good year for AMD, They've put a lot off effort into Zen and by not pushing an earlier release of Vega they've given themselves time to get it right rather than just pushing it out the door. For a while now they've been concentrating on development more than production so let's hope they (and us) now reap the benefits from that.

I'm baffled that anyone ever thought that Vega would be numbered as part of the 400 series.

Why would they take an all-singing-all-dancing 'this changes everything' next-gen product and tack it onto an existing series that's been around the best part of a year?
