The Multi-Year Amendment to the Wafer Supply Agreement With GLOBALFOUNDRIES ties Amd to GF until they had a Amendment to it so they can use other foundries a lot easier.

U do know global foundries is Amd's own fab right? Amd split their foundry assets into the seperate company in fear of bankruptcy so that they would not loose all of their fabrication plants. Sneeky move which im surprised most people dont remember.

That's true they only owned around 35% of GlobalFoundries from the start and Mubadala owned the majority, and also owns 19.9% of AMD themselves.

Good gawd guys: http://www.anandtech.com/show/5627/...ndependence-acquires-remaining-stake-from-amd

Got to love it when people speak confidently like they are 100% sure of what they are talking about.

More so Cyber-Mav. It's like, you do know you are talking out of you backside right? Lol

Doom actually runs at 50-60 consistently at max 4k (not nightmare). One game then :)

BF1 is pretty good as well... although i am with you guys when they launched the fury x's as 4k cards it was a joke... I do love how they have aged with the new api's though.

All i want is a single card that can handle 4k at max settings with head room to record game play at 1080p without taking a hit.. is that too much to ask haha

If either amd or nvidia come up with this i would be over the moon. I am sick of xfire and sli in the state that they are...

Aye so to say Globo is still AMD's is rather silly. Like saying TSMC is AMD's to some extent.

I just hope they're not locked with GF for too long though, I'm not too fond of the results of their 14nm FinFet process.
TSMC might be better for GPUs.

Yea. Polaris was poorer than expected and I think one of the big reasons was GloFo.

I'm expecting all but the new flagship GPU to be cheaper rebrands on the rx4XX series, hope I'm wrong though, I want to replace my r9 290 with a another £300 GPU but there's nothing that warrants the price to be a worth while upgrade yet (currently gaming at 60hz 1080p)

They rebrand 400's to 500's no biggy for consumers exactly. Then Vega is the big card release hopefully before july and I presume a bit later they have slower cheaper version of Vega, lower binned version perhaps nobody knows? So one of those two maybe hits the mark for people at their price range.
Then 2018 could be the real big deal for AMD which is ryzen and vega on the same chip, might be a washout or a game changer for every part of the market. As those all in one integrated setups and laptops are some of the biggest sellers I reckon, not our specialist tuner side high performance high cost part of the market. If AMD is the cheapest most efficient setup from budget to near top end they'll be no excuse for them not to succeed and get some actual market share increases.

global foundries is not AMD, AMD doesnt have any fabrication plants in their name anymore as i explained before. they split/sold of thier plants to avoid loosing them if they went bankrupt.

no AMD name on those plants in the list.

I believe their bound to GoFlo until 2024 although they can use other companies to manufacture semi custom chips (consoles basically).

Mate, I never once stated GloFlo belongs to AMD...did you even read any of my posts.

They do have a binding contract apparently to have GPUs and CPUs made there.

cool, im in dire need of a gpu upgrade now since playing just cause 3 is finally brought me back to the pc, but with a gfx card budget of £150 is there going to be any vega in my price range?
