I don't remember the like no tomorrow part which is where it becomes hard to defend. Ahh well i would keep him away from the stage in future. Looked like Raja knew he was talking crap as he soon said stop stop stop :D:D:D.

Keep him in his box next time, no need to add more such minor things burnt permanently into peoples life term memory and grudge holdings. :D

Yeah, that means 50% ish to me tbh, and obviously some people struggle to get anything out of them at all!!

/strokes my old Celeron 300A in my head.....:D

Even if it had been like 15-20% most people would have glossed over it - but most of the people who got their hands on them early on couldn't even manage 10% IIRC - I remember the first 2 people to post about overclocking them that I read couldn't go above +50MHz at all.

Yea had he said this about the original 7950 with 800mhz core that could normally reach 1200 and some above he would have been fine. That's 50% and more for some. They should be told before going on stage to stick to the 100% strength of the cards and stay as far away as possible from the known weaknesses. They shouldn't have anyone on stage who has clearly never even used the card or even a video card :D:D:D

+1

Hum what?
did you mean the 1080 the added tax card vs Furyx maybe?
checked some deus:x numbers and I guess your statement means absolutely nothing then. Just saying people believe things that isn't true.

What are you smoking? I'm saying fury x vs regular fury the difference between them in games was usually around 3-4 fps.

For the fury x though the difference between that and fury was about 3-4 fps at best

What part of that is hard to understand?

I wish EVGA were an AMD partner in all honesty, Sapphire are decent but EVGA just seem to be really really good with their products and options like the upgrade trade in etc.

What, you mean like the coil whine on their 1080's? I'm not the only one with it either I sometimes wonder if people actually read the threads on other cards here.

To be fair coil whine is something that varies, even if high grade parts are used it can still occur.

You can get coil whine on cards (which is the vast majority) which have copper/coil based inductors on them. a lot of the time i found the whine in fact comes from the PSU as they use more Toroidal ones and not Bobbin based ones which are normally in a little case and are glued in to stop sonic vibration.

As a side note AMD did Kill off one of the old nvidia partners BFG (RIP) which wanted to make AMD cards but they where caught in the process working with OEMS and was blocked from releasing them. Such a shame could have saved BFG.

How did amd kill them off? Nvidia were the ones that stopped supplying them gpu's then they tried to sell amd cards as an unauthorized partner. The nvidia 480 was supposed to have played a large part in bfg collapsing.

Vega 10 with HBM2 will Launch This Year

For professional market

Our well-informed sources have confirmed that Vega 10, AMD’s first HBM 2 card will by announced before the end of this year, at least for the professional market.

One might expect that this launch could happen at this year’s Supercomputer show in November but we didn’t get a precise date. AMD could use Vega 10 for both the professional graphics market and the compute market.

At its highest end the Vega 10 GPU has 16GB HBM 2.0 memory, which is what you would see if you opened the bonnet of hte Nvidia P100 cards. There will be a version of the card with less memory too.

The fact that AMD / RTG plans to launch the card this year, doesn’t mean that they will have too many to sell. The general idea is to get the customers excited and ship in volume in early 2017.

This will put the RTG professional group in a better position as the Vega 10 is expected to compete better against Nvidia. We will see how much the new Vega architecture can benefit from the faster memory and memory interface. AMD could use this a sales push in this highly profitable market.

As Fudzilla already suggested, there will also be a Vega 20 GPU, a successor to Vega architecture which will arrive after the first one.

Nice one and good find. 2017 is shaping up to be a good year for us GPU gimps :D

lol you wot m8? ;)

That was pure Fud from Fudzilla, the whole thing is what if's and could be's... total speculation.

Only time we will know anything solid about Vega is when AMD say something, the leaks from Fiji to the present day have all been extremely wide of the mark.

Yeah it was Nvidia who killed BFG off.

Something really weird happened with BFG - their cards mysteriously suffered BGA solder type failure on a massive scale (not just people trying it on with the warranty) not sure if it was poor storage conditions or something more sinister :S even compared to the problems with that on certain nVidia models they had it bad and included on cards that were ostensibly unaffected.

Was that with Fermi `1?

Could be cheap solder with low melting temps

Might as well close the thread then if we only take what AMD say as gospel. News is crap Si at present, so anything guff or not is better than nothing and who is to say they are wrong?
