Right - Vega needs to come along before the end of June. My wife has booked an engineer to fit a Smart Electric Meter on 28/06/2017 (you know, the ones that tell you how much electric you're using in real time). That means the twin 290's need to go and be replaced by a single GPU by then or I'll be in real trouble when she finds out how much the PC actually draws under heavy load, so come on AMD - get working on releasing Vega so I can choose between it and Pascal. :D

you can always point out the 10 tons of litter she buys every year that she doesn't need like you know the usual makeup, dresses she do not wear, anti age creams that doesn't work. I think compared to that the few extra dollars on the electric bill can be justified :P

Thanks mate. Don't worry - I have a trump card if ever she does mention anything about running costs - she owns a horse!! :D

HAHA! Bloody hell, she's onto you!

Well Vega is shipping end of Q2 according to Lisa Su, so hopefully it means we don't have delays.

Im looking to buy a GPU and go 4K in november/december. So hopefully by then Vega will both be out, be able to do 4K, and prices dropped a little. Although I wouldn't expect a big price drop till Volta comes out. I guess it depends how much Vega prices push down Pascal Prices. I suspect not a great amount.

Wasn't that an on release issue?

I got the game after Vulcan released and by then all the on release issues must have been fixed up as I never saw any problems,
Doom on Vulcan was what all games should strive to be imo.

Plus it's smells a bit fishy if AMD's release issues cause poor performance while Nvidia's boost performance.
No idea Nasha and could well have been. I haven't got Prey as of yet and I am on nights, so not a good time for me to play games but curious if this is just a 1060 thing (3GB) or if it affects other NVidia cards. I am betting it is down to the 3GB and VRAM limitations but without anyone posting VRAM usage or other technical bits, it is all guess work. I do chuckle at the tin foilers though :D

I dont think it has anything to do with the 3gb vram limitation. According to this https://www.overclock3d.net/reviews/software/prey_pc_performance_review/12 vram is at 3gigs on a 1080 even at 1440p on ultra.

Right, time to pack up shop lads, Jen-Hsun Huang says VEGA is nothing to worry about. Might as well all buy 1070/1080's now. ;)

Blayne Curtis - Barclays Capital, Inc.

"Thanks. And then just moving to the gaming GPU side, I was just wondering if you can just talk about the competitive landscape looking back at the last refresh. And then looking forward into the back half of this year, I think your competitors have a new platform. I'm just curious as to your thoughts as to how the share worked out on the previous refresh and then the competitiveness into the second half of this year."

Jen-Hsun Huang - NVIDIA Corp.

"My assessment is that the competitive position is not going to change."

Blayne Curtis - Barclays Capital, Inc.

"That's a short answer, thank you."

Intel also said Ryzen is nothing to worry about in their earnings call, and for sale rep training. :p

Neither Intel, nor NVIDIA are going to say they're worried to their investors. Everyone claims they offer the best.

Question
Ross C. Seymore (Deutsche Bank Securities, Inc): That’s very helpful. I guess as my follow-up, you talked about the ASPs in answering a prior question. I wondered about the competitive intensity in the PC market. You’re taking a more conservative tack than the third-party vendors are forecasting, but your primary x86 competitor is coming out with a new architecture for the first time in many, many years. So, I wonder whether it’s on the ASP or the unit or the market share side how you’re factoring that into your forecast for the year.

Answer
Brian M. Krzanich (Intel Corp): Sure. I would tell you that we always look at this environment and say there’s going to be a competitive risk in the environment. And we’re always focused on really, our own product roadmap and making sure that we have the highest performance product. So, when we look at 2017, we still believe that our product roadmap is truly the best ever it’s been.

Hello, I am here to bring you some important information about Vega. Yes I know many people here have been waiting patiently for some substantial information about Vega from AMD. Well I am happy to say your wait has finally come to an end.

Today I will reveal the full Vega lineup and release date! I will include spoilers so Google does not pick up on important parts.

The RX Vega lineup will come in 3 flavors to cater for different price points. The stated aim is to contend directly against the GTX 10 series.

Spoiler.

RX Vega "Super" - RRP: $499.99 (1080 PERF or better).

RX Vega "Hyper" - RRP: $599.99 (1080TI PERF or better).")

Please note: The RX Vega subnames were still being decided on by the board room at the time so are subject to change but those were the most popular ones amongst the engineers along with "Core" "Eclipse" & "Nova".

And now for the grand finally... DATES!

(/s"The Vega teaser is May 16.

The full Vega reveal is May 30 - June 3.

The official release of Vega is June 5")

P.S Do not ask me for my source. If I told you my friend would lose his job. Let's just say it is rather "Sunny" where he works... ;)

P.S.S Let the downvotes begin. I am expect that I will be flamed for revealing this info despite being from a legit source. If you don't believe me feel free to come back to this post in 3 weeks.

Leaving no product between the RX580 at $250 and RX Vega Super at $500 ? Seems unlikely. I think AMD will have to knock another $100 off those prices.
