Not this time. My funds were swallowed up with the 1080Ti and the PG34Q (even though the Mrs paid for most of it). I would like one though to try out and always nice to review stuff :)

I'll look forward to the review mate. I'm hoping VEGA is going to be something special.

Just a shame about the freesync/gsync tech. Looks like I'll be waiting for Volta unless they release a 3440x1440 144hz+ any time soon :D

Sadly no review from me unless someone wants to loan me one for a couple of weeks lol. The PG348Q will be with me for a long time as it is just superb. Great IQ, decent refresh rate and I can't feel any input lag.

Who is going to buy a Vega card?

Me. Although in all honestly I know it's not a sensible decision and likely a bit of a waste of money. Why? Because a have the Acer XR342CK which is 3440x1440 at 75Hz and my Fury X allows me to play 90% of my games capped at 75Hz. Because I only started gaming again a few years ago after a gap of 15 years, most of the games I play are older games that just don't need any more power than I already have. I'm usually playing one new title along with a few older ones at any one time but the only games I've had to tweak the settings to get over 50FPS were GTAV, ROTR and Deus Ex MKD. Yes I know new games will gradually get more demanding over the next few years but my Fury X is likely more than adequate for my gaming needs for another 2 years. But I still want a Vega. It's almost irrational. Then it makes me look at the new Samsung CF791 monitor which would allow me to see an additional performance over 75 FPS the Vega card would give me, as I'm sure you know it's a 100HZ 3440x1440 freesync monitor. I'm not flush with cash but I could finance one. But then I just spent £700 on the Acer XR34 a year ago and if I'm honest I can barely tell the difference between 50 FPS and 75 FPS so would I likely notice the difference between 75Hz and 100Hz? Probably not but I'm still seriously considering it. So I guess the sensible thing to do would be to hold on both my Fury X and monitor for another 2 years but I know I won't. Maybe I won't get the 100Hz Samsung monitor but I will get the Vega. Just because I want one...

15 years without gaming you got a lot of catching up todo im not sure i could go that long was you in prison with no privileges or under the thumb

Ahh, my brain from the heat during the day lol ;)

Yeah is a superb monitor. Certainly couldn't go back to 16:9 now. I've tried setting my resolution to 2560x1440 and it nearly makes me gag :p :D

But yeah no noticed lag over 144hz even 165hz. Minimal loss in smoothness, although one at 144hz and a GPU to power it would be perfect in all aspects.

Just lost interest. Discovered raves, partying and all the delights that come along with that. And yeah then had 3 kids. It was actually after I got my first smart phone the Samsung Galaxy S2 that I started playing some games on. Then bought a Samsung all in one PC through one of these workplace schemes so I could work from home. Discovered it had an i5 processor and an HD 7900 series AMD card so bought myself a game - Resident Evil 5, then Fay Cry 3. Was wiped out by far games had moved on - the last game a played seriously being Tomb Raider 2. Gamed casually on the Samsung for 3 years before forking out 2Gs on the rig in my signature last year. Now I'm a hopeless gaming addict with over 250 games in my library...

I will be, most likely, buying one immediately when they are available. But I don't want another hot GPU, so I won't be buying if they run hot.

The first Vega cards will be designed for compute tasks and will be (a) hilariously expensive and (b) less than ideal for games. Unless you're doing AI research or something else that benefits from a card designed for that sort of thing, it won't be a good purchase.

I need a new graphics card for handling my ludicrously complex settlements in Fallout 4. I'm getting sustained 100% GPU load and full VRAM and under 10fps in the bigger ones, so I'm going to push the boat out with an upgrade. But not a compute-orientated card, so I'm going to have to wait longer.

Nothing wrong with being a gaming addict mate i now have 2 kids one is 2 the other 3 months so finding it hard. So many games i want to play and not enough time. I just hope vega delivers 4k at 60fps for most games

You'll get the time back mate. My boys are 4 & 5 now - I bought them an XBOX 360 a couple of years ago so they've both been gaming since they were 3 - it's amazing how quick they pick it up and I think it's good for their development when they are that young in terms of their fine motor skills and little logical puzzles in the Lego games. My youngest has even starting playing with the mouse and keyboard on my computer! He loves playing the Hello Neighbour game demo after one of these YouTube channels he watches, plays it all the time - no controller support though so he had to use the mouse and keyboard - makes you beam with pride watching him! :D We're one big happy gaming family now!

I have no doubt Vega will deliver the 4K 60 FPS you desire. Fear not.

Everyone's different, Hardwarecanucks did a video recently which favours high refresh first for gaming https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Gq2YPOrx50 and with ultrawide you're gonna get a lower pixel density. They look good for making videos though like he states in the vid.

For those sensitive to motion clarity, high refresh rate will always be king but it always makes me laugh when people say they love 100+HZ displays yet they are only getting 50-70 FPS on average :D In order to get the "full" benefit of 100+HZ, you also need to be getting those FPS too....

It isn't all about the framerate - 60Hz is quite limiting in making a compromise between tearing and v-sync input latency (obviously this is including some form of adaptive sync in the equation) but also running with v-sync off the perceived tearing is reduced if you are rendering atleast some of the time above 60 fps.

Similar to you I've got theXR341ck and a Fury Pro, Together the do a pretty good job and with minimal tweaking everythings playable and inside the Freesync range, I'm going for Vega but I don't think I'm going to upgrade the monitor for some time,
When I do I want either a 144hz 16.9 HDR 4k monitor or a 40"+ 144hz HDR uw4k (5120x2160) monitor.

Acer Z35P looks like a good option atm at 120Hz, but the pricing is a little high atm in comparison to the Agon.

If it was £850-£900 I'd be interested, I'm pondering going back to a gaming screen with a higher refresh.

Is it 120hz? On the tech specs(acer website) it says 100hz or is it overclockable?

Nice looking monitor but acer customer service :( I've had far better with Asus.
