messiah khan said:Even if prices don't officially drop, I can see lots of early adopters buying AM2 cpu's and selling their old 939 chips on the Members Market, so hopefully I will be able to find a bargain there.
Broon said:Hmm that didn't take as long as expected. Windows refused to boot at 2.65.
I could increase the voltage slightly more, set RAM to run slower, lower HTT farther ect but I think I will leave that until another day. 500 free Mhz is still a good OC.
Out of intrest do you know to what degree running my chip at 2.5 will shorten it's lifespan?
humax said:to be honest broon i think 2.5 is a great overclock . i would be happy at 2.4 not sure about the life of a O\C chip but for me it dont matter as i only keep them for about a year at the most
cuscus97 said:The first of the 060x's did 2.7ghz under stock volts. 3ghz on air was relatively easy. So i don't think these are fantastic steppings. So i wouldn't call 2.5ghz with a slightly increased voltage much good.
Not criticising you Broon, just saying. Good work nonetheless.
