AMD Zen 2 (Refresh) 3900XT/3800XT/3600XT

The problem with that is its 100Mhz, or 2.5%. there needs to be something else in these refreshed CPU's other than a small clock speed bump, they need to be more than margin of error faster to make any sense at all..

I suspect they're just fillers until Zen3 arrives. Probably costing very little to keep their name out there with reviews. I don't think it these are assumed at Zen2 owners.

I very much doubt there is anything new in these, just better binned items so can run a little quicker at reasonable temps and power usage.

Anyone with a none XT already pushing these clocks isn't going to see a performance improvement.

I miss the days when Intel were accused of milking people, so AMD have basically held back the best samples and are now going to stick a T on the end and sell them as if they're an improved chip. lol

Maybe filler as Zen3 is delayed? Could have issues with the new 4000 series due to the pandemic and are pushing back the release? Otherwise I see no reason why they would release these?

Pure marketing, Intel just released the 10th Gen Core CPU's, this gives them 'newer' parts to sell, and advertise and have reviewed, and it will show for the majority of the tests that AMD offer better bang for buck and better performance for the most part.

No reason not to do it, after all it was 12 months ago the first Ryzen 3xxx parts arrived.

They are improved, as with most processes they have likely improved over time and provided higher yield, these would have likely ended up as 3950 parts but if yields improved more than expected then why not create some additional SKU`s to use them up.

Oddly enough, the tards are loserbenchcheat do use how new something is as one of their criteria to give it %%%.

Probably not considering the reported higher base clocks haven't increased, disappointing really; just able to use better bin chiplets as 7nm process has matured.

Seems expensive premium given that the older models are way discounted from their MSRP.

Indeed, shame about the IF.
That could have made these massive, instead they look like a 4% improvement on single core.
Which is a real intel move, thankfully they are a stop gap filler, rather than a full new line in a brand new socket, so not quite like Intel :P

That probably equates to about 0-1% for gaming does it? :p
Frankly, I am not even going to talk about unlaboured 1080 gaming and the 'impressive' help these might provide, as i always discount it when the new intel CPU manages 3 extra fps.
Its all rot, at 4k and probably 1440 all the top processors are virtually the same, with some benefits in certain situations for ryzen amount of threads.
This will be no different.

I have to choose a CPU to go with a x570 tomahawk, not sure now, might go low then dump in a mid 4000 series in 9 months.
If these are sold in July, are they review embargoed until then?
Anyone know?

If it is a stop-gap CPU a Ryzen 5 3600 should do the job??
