AMD Zen 2 (Ryzen 3000) - *** NO COMPETITOR HINTING ***

Techpowerup keep delivering all the answers this launch.

They put a 3900X in a cheap ($70) ASUS B350 motherboard. Here are the results:

Seems to be 2 bad results but otherwise parity, great when you consider this board ranks so low on the VRM tier list:

Awesome info thanks

I'm on the cusp of cancelling my order. Not enough gain from a 2700x to a 3700x/3800x right?

There are two games where there is a decent gain, Tom Raider and Far Cry but generally not much of an improvement between the CPU's.

---

I cancelled.

I'll wait for next year and see whats what.

Your air will cooler will be enough but the cooler you can keep it the better.
I'm doing a new build atm and i have the possibility either to use the D15S, add a second cooler and make it dual fan setup or third option...return it (2 weeks window which starts from this week's friday) and get an AIO...
The CM H500M is also a very good airflow case and that was one of the main reasons to get it.
A bit confused so far and even sure what to do tbh.

Good shout I think and coming to the same conclusion myself. As I mainly game and at 4K it’s looking a bit pointless at the mo.

Back in the day a CPU would last me 4 years! Since Ryzen launched I've almost upgraded 3 times culminating in the 3800x.

I bought the 1700 and wasn't happy worth it so could justify the 2700x. But I am happy with the 2700x so cant justify the upgrade.
