It's not, the 3700x is.So why is the 3900X the direct replacement for the 2700X then?

It's what I do. Not touched the BIOS.Personally I would have left everything default (except RAM) in BIOS and use Ryzen master first.

The 3700-3800 are direct replacements for 2700-2700X. And given the perf difference some might argue the 3600X also.So why is the 3900X the direct replacement for the 2700X then?

My comment was aimed at a comment that he made previously, where he whined that the 3900X was too expensive since it should have been priced at 2700X levels since according to him it was its direct replacement. It's not, the 3700x is.
@Gibbo Any news on 3800x and 3900x stock?
Awaiting news too. I've ordered 3900x, GPU and NVME SSD from OCUK. It's the last items I need for my first new build in 6 years so the wait is killing me
Thinking of downgrading to the 3700x but 50% improvement in multi-core speed is worth it for me.
Lol, someone putting a 1 star review on amazon saying that the 3900x should have been £270 as it’s the 2700X replacement. Think they’ll find that’s the 3700X. 3900 is a whole new Ryzen 9 series. Idiots.
AMD recommends 1.325 V long term.Does anyone know if a constant 1.4v for the CPU is fine for the 3700x
I'm sat at it right now as PBO is crap on my machine but worried I'm gonna do damage!
How exactly do you switch PBO on?Well, unless there are developments with overclocking, bios settings, or bios updates, I've given up even trying it, just stuck PBO and make do with 4-4.1 total overload (prime 95) and 4.2-4.3 games. I tried turning LLC on and setting voltage to 1.45 and even then Cinebench wouldn't run at 4.3GHz.
