AMD Zen 2 (Ryzen 3000) - *** NO COMPETITOR HINTING ***

So in June I can get a 16 core 32 thread Ryzen that’s double the speed of my 9900k in rendering and games for less money ?

I don't care if it's less money, if they put out a 16c32t chip with that level of performance I'll gladly pay more than the current 9900K price. It won't give you double the gaming performance obviously, but it'll push AMDs gaming performance closer to or beyond the 9900k whilst giving a massive multithreaded advantage.

It'd be a monster and better the the 2950X without the downsides of TR4 (motherboard cost, cooler cost/choice, latency issues, needing quad channel RAM).

Yes, the you can do between 2-3 runs in succession before the power limit kicks in hard. So it's pulling ~119w to achieve 4.7GHz that puts the AMD part miles ahead in PPW terms, and is huge for the segment that I work in as low power 8+ core CPU's can be seriously considered possible in the next 12 months.
Certainly.
In fairness to the 9900K, it is an incredibly efficient CPU in stock configuration itself; more efficient than the 2700X anyway, despite the space heater comments that are more appropriate to the out of the box configuration.
Rather, IT WAS incredibly efficient until today. :)

There'll be some serious performance on mobile pretty soon by my reckoning.

How much would you be willing to pay ?

What if there was no perceived increase in games for example ?

Indeed 95w at 4.2GHz is blooming good for 14nm across all 8c/16t, but the key to any real future comparison needs to be within the manufacturer specified limits, not that of a motherboard vendor with a tweaked BIOS.

Thread about ryzen 3000.

9900k owner comes in and talks solidly about their 9900k.

What.the.hell.

Read every intel thread and tell me it’s not the other way around...

I’ll be very interested to drop my 8700k for the (hopefully) flagship higher core Ryzen come summer.

I'm absolutely speachless. An unknown model of Ryzen 3000 CPU beats an i9 by a tiny amount and the Intel fanboys are finding excuses to defend their supposedly superior product. While the Cinebench scores are pretty much the same:

1. AMD did it with 30% less power
2. AMD did it with 92% less budget
3. AMD did it with 33.3% less generations (3rd gen vs 9th gen)
4. AMD probably did it with a lower clock frequency

It's mind blowing what AMD have done when you take all this into consideration.

What.the.hell.

The semen has already overflowed their little circle jerk, so now they got to come in and use ours. To be fair the 9900K thread has more than its fair share of Ryzen posts.

If this thing goes into an X370, then I will be a happy chap. I only paid £140 for a Ryzen 1700 and Mobo on the members market so it would be rude not to throw a bit of money AMD's way for a new chip in 6 months. ;)

An engineering sample 8c/16t Zen 2-based Ryzen processor with unspecified clock rate matches the 9900K in performance at half the power, and somehow the Intel nuthuggers still claim they're superior.

I guess I was right when I said the 3850X is going to put them in a coma :p

But for now I'm out, I can't take much more of DG, easyrider et al fluffing their precious Blue Team and stamping their tiny little feet.

Unwatching; see you at Computex when these bad boys properly launch and make the Intel fangirls sob.
