AMD Zen 2 (Ryzen 3000) - *** NO COMPETITOR HINTING ***

~£599, maybe less. Consider that you can get a 3.5GHz base, 4.4GHz boost 16c/32t 2950X for <£750, obviously it's 180w TDP but it has the PCI-E lanes, quad channel RAM etc.
AMD is known to have charged 1000 for top desktop processor.
And I meant 16 core not at these leaked clocks, but real top, binned and factory clocked to burst. Something that wipes the floor with 9900K given enough cooling

Yeah, and the FX9590 was a joke because of it. I don't remember the price staying at a grand for long either.

Did AMD really charge a grand for that pile of crap? that's hilarious :D i had one, i was given it, it boiled my Cooler Master Seidon 120V, no really it lasted about 6 months....

so, MSI have teased the ACE board... time to see how long Aorus Japanese CM takes to cave in now haha

@Silent_Scone hope asus looks a bit better! some how MSI gone back a little, z390 was far prettier

I really like this round of boards, but all these things are subjective. If you like the look of the more recent Intel offerings aesthetically you shouldn't be disappointed.

Indeed subjective, I wish they'd make more plain black boards with no stupid labelling and graphics on them. Less spend on RGB bling, silk screening/printing and all the other in your face style designs you see now. I miss the days of when boards were ugly, like the Abit NF-7 or IP35 etc. :D

One of my all time favs :D

It certainly qualifies as an ugly board I'll give you that, I was lucky enough not to own a Pentium 4 from that period and went with the far superior products from AMD at the time. :D
Excluding socket 754, naturally :p. It was more a pick for me in that post due to function over form rather than performance! Scary to see how far things have come.
