AMD Zen 2 (Ryzen 3000) - *** NO COMPETITOR HINTING ***

They don't exist in 2x 16GB, if that is what you are looking for, 3600MHz C16.

You can spend £240+ on some C14 3200MHz sticks though, not sure how that is better value than overclocking a set of E-die sticks at a <£110 however. Guess no one here is bothered about value for money or overclocking anymore, they just buy the most expensive and fastest stuff, where's the fun in that. :(

With earlier Ryzen versions people just wanted to hit 3200 easier, some of the more expensive RAM almost guaranteed that. Overclocking RAM on previous gen Ryzen can be a massive pain in the arse and a lot of people just wonder have the time/knowledge/patience for it. :p

People could do worse that to check out some of the nice RAM deals around today, if they are looking to go for a new setup. Crucial Ballistix Sport LT 3000MHz C15 (Micron E-die) can be had for <£110 for 32GB (2x16GB), oh it is white if you care. :)
EDIT: Never mind, found it. Dual rank though, might hinder overclockability...

Cracking deal for £106 though!

I know, that you know that I know, since I sold you that marvellous Corsair 3466MhzB-die kit for your Ryzen ;) :p

It's not like that now though, it is almost plug and play like XMP and with these new IMC's on Ryzen 3xxx we can hope it it better again. :)

On my 4770k I turned on my PC, it showed 1600MHz. I enmabled enabled XMP and it changed the RAM to run at its rated 2133MHz just like that. I haven't touched it since. Will Ryzen 3000 be like that?

Also does this RAM look good for 3900x?

On my 2700x which is running on a gigabyte x470 aorus gaming 7 wifi and using 8 pack ram i have the xmp profile for sure here.

Go with 8 pack ram because it is amd compatible you see as far as i know apparently.

Consider this ram below.

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £158.69 (includes shipping: £8.70)

Ah yeah, forgot that. :D (Still going strong in daughters rig :p)

Agreed on hoping Ryzen 2 is much more plug and play and offers easier overclocking, I have spent days(literally) messing about with various ryzen ram timings on several sets of memory.

ryzen ram calculator , would tune up ram even better or allow higher overclock :D

believe ryzen 3000 version is ready to roll out

Pftt, that didn't exist when we were doing it all by eye. ;)

All these Ryzen new comers are going to have it easier than ever, it'll almost be like they never left Intel :p

Hi All

I'm looking for 32GB 3200 ram for my upcoming Ryzen build (upgrading from Ryzen 1700)
Should I go for 2 x 16GB sticks or 4 x 8GB? I will be picking up a high end X570 board when they are released.

Thanks in advance

A.

I'd go with 2 x 16gb sticks, that is if your motherboard only supports dual data rate or whatever it is called where you put ram sticks in slot 1 and slot 3 you see when you install the ram that is for example on the motherboard.

Would like to know which x570 motherboard so i know what ram slots it supports maybe when the motherboards get released.

Thanks for that, I figured it would be 2 x 16gb. I will wait for the reviews before deciding which MB.
I'm going for a white build in an O11 Dynamic so will be looking for suitable ram and a board that will look good.

Thnx

2x16 as you'll be able to upgrade it in the future if you want as well

I have a question am a bit rusty but for instance ryzen 2xxx series the 3000/3200mhz is the sweet spot so the ram does not bottleneck the processor or is more ideal as you know.

... i know i should read and learn but i want to ask, it seems with ryzen 3xxx i wonder is it 3600mhz now?

I know this is a dumb question in a way but yeah we all have to start from somewhere.

Thanks,

Dan.
