AMD Zen 2 (Ryzen 3000) - *** NO COMPETITOR HINTING ***

Nah dont fancy that i prefer plug and play lol

Are these the ones you just bought for £150 ?

Yea just usual business aint it trying to catch the people who havnt been checking prices and just buy on the spot

Yes those ones for £150.

Yep just to make clear, it was the 8 pack ram at 3600 MHz so yes it was exactly that ram.

clicky clicky click bait them motherboards :D

always makes me chuckle watching them all fly up knowing until theres cpu's in them it means bugger all.

You can pick up the Crucial BLE2K8G4D36BEEAK (2x 8GB) 3600MHz C16 kits for sub £150, they are Micron E-die, or if you want to play the silicon lottery you can by the cheaper Ballistix Sport LT kits 3000MHz C15, or 3200MHz C16 kits for <£80, and overclock them. The timings are different to the B-die but they competitive performance for a much lower cost, sadly OCUK don't sell any Crucial kits and as such will never recommend or test them internally.

I ordered 3200c15 Tridents this morning for £115. Should be decent b-die and hit the 3600 mark with good latency. I saw the price rises and got spooked, didn't want to miss out. Can always return it if I made a mistake. I was very tempted by the cheap Ballistix though

Thanks Journey, I'd actually seen you mention those Crucial kits previously but rainforest has them (BLE2K8G4D36BEEAK) at £187 right now, not sure if somewhere else has them cheaper? They are also not listed on the part picking site so some offerings might be missed if solely relying on that website.

Well you can always try the manufacturer direct, or just buy two separate 8GB modules which are ~£74 each.

To be honest, I find it really hard justifying the price increase for some RAM, as unless you are into benching, or high-end gaming with a 2080/Ti, then the £100 difference would add much more performance elsewhere if budget limited, not saying you are btw just a general observation. It the difference from taking a 3600MHz kit with a GTX 1660Ti, or going with a 3000Mhz kit and an RTX 2060 Super, I know which one works better, especially for the gamers around here. :)

£750 gorgeous .....

It does defo look the part and ticks all the boxes for features and power handling. The big issue though, as was mentioned at the start of the vid, could well be the bios. Gigabyte has a very bad rep for bios's and good as the mobo itself might be, if the bios is rubbish then the mobo will be rubbish as well.
The other thing that still concerns me about ALL of these mega expensive x570's is how much will they be worth in 2 years time when they are EOL. It's all well and good being used to buying a mobo at £250+ and then selling it on a couple of years latter at £100+. Does anyone on this forum seriously expect to be able to sell a £750 mobo on in a couple of years time and only loose £100/150 on it ? I don't think so. Unless you are prepared to take a £500 hit on resale value these overpriced mobo's should be avoided at all cost.

On this gen as a whole overclocking headroom is limited on core.

With these cpu to get all the perf you also need strong infinity fabric then run 1:1 divider high.
IF is where I hit wall on 2700x and 3533 memoty. More speed on Memory would get CPU destabilized or i should say IF Destabilized. And I expected same situation here Would love to have a play with top binned Bkit see how low timings could it get at 3733 :)

I had my mind all made up on the B450 Carbon after a lot of research. 8-pack posts have me worried though. This NDA is a real PITA.

Combo 1.0.0.3A is the latest AGESA, the B450 Pro Carbon AC is on 1.0.0.3, some boards are not as up to date. I wouldn't worry too much AMD are still fine tuning the microcode, and it will be a bit up in the air even for X570 owners if you are an early buyer.
