AMD Zen 2 (Ryzen 3000) - *** NO COMPETITOR HINTING ***

Ok, ta. I wonder what we can expect from the others then? What's it like with your 2700X?

I believe with PBO on it turbos to about 4.1Ghz and all core is about 4GHz.

But then I have an x370 board and leave everything stock vanilla.

I do hope tho that if I was to get an an 3800x it would function as advertised in my existing x370 board. I.e turbo to 4.5GHz.

The information on the 3700x has been virtually non-existent on it. We still don't know if any have come in, if anyone will be getting them or are those who pre-ordered early will get them before Friday.

Next day delivery on the 12th, which was given to us by an observant forum user, means Monday for those who paid Next day now and only if we get allocated them.

Basically it looks like next week at the earliest for me.

It's not OCUKs fault but they certainly know what is being delivered and when unless they order boxes from an xmas market not knowing what's in them.

You do realise OcUK receives huge amounts of stock every day and a lot of it arrives just in plain brown boxes with no paperwork making items hard to identify.

Warehouse are under clear instructions to watch out for AMD CPUs and X570 motherboards but it’s not easy with 100’s of other deliveries also arriving.

However all the AMD CPUs that arrived today were booked in and 3700X and 3800X were not present I spoke to AMD who confirmed:

3700X: 400 units shipped from Netherlands on 5th July and were due today, likely tomorrow, about 250 presold
3800X: 180 units shipped from Neverlands on 5th July and also due today, again likely tomorrow and around 100 presold.

I had already said this in threads and it’s not changed stock most likely in tomorrow but it’s with the courier and nothing is a guarantee with couriers.

This is what I was trying to say earlier. Lots of people have asked about 3700x delivery to ocuk and we just want to know what they know. It's not ocuk fault that the courier / supplier hasnt shown up. But weve been told they were due friday, but didnt turn up. Then we were told today and we havent been really updated since what the situation is. Ocuk must be in touch with them and asking for updates too.

So why not pass that on in more detail, even if it's just to tell us that they simply dont know what going on and they are being given the run around too.

Very poor showing from amd for a launch by messing companies about with stock. Hype a launch up and pretty much have no stock for the biggest suppliers of pc equipment in the land. Which in turns leaves us frustrated as consumers.

Edit - facepalm as gibbo has just updated us. Thanks lol. Must be frustrating your end too!!!

Reviewers, review I test properly massive difference... We have to warranty and support systems. Be sure what they offer our business customers etc etc...

To be fair to reviewers all sampling was very late why do you think no 8Pack bundles or even a system with these products on launch??

Bios revisions every few days for me to qualify with my ram and test for SI etc.. When does a reviewer say its too late to incorporate this that and the other into a review. But each bios changes efficiency and other tuning factors...

Difficult position.

I have like ten plus boards changing stuff out daily to check everything... At some stage they have to say we need to publish our review... It's the best we can do given x, y and z, parameters... Those not doing the basics is a different story however...

And qvl come on?? How is that possible when it changes with each revision of bios...

yeah thats my point, you build systems for a living, so your testing is more thorough, it has to be since you have to make sure what you sell works.

Well, I don't know many company's that are as open and transparent about the supply chain as you guys are, so massive kudos for keeping us in the loop!

I never got my order through until about 12:30pm today on the 3900x so doubtful i'll manage to bag one tomorrow but fingers crossed for Wednesday. Stocks were showing pretty good around that time. Does anyone know if the warehouse continues into the evening, or whether i should let go of any misplaced hope for the day and get on with my life? :D

Warehouse closes at 7pm and reopens 7am.

Ryzen noob question, do we know if the b450 motherboards will be able to hit 3600mhz ram? am I right in thinking that the dependance is on the cpu and not the motherboards? so the 3xxx should work with 3600mhz on mosty motherboards?

In order to have IF at 1:1 ram has to be 3600mhz or less right?

Ta

I understand you don't have any control on the courier. My problem is without scanning every single page in this thread, I would never have known that those who have pre-paid would receive anything as the website is stating the 12th now (which means next day delivery that was paid for means next week in that scenario).

So it's a bit crap for yourselves and obviously the customer where you may lose sales to a competitor, if they happen to get some in earlier than friday and can sell them.

At least now those who pre-purchased know that the courier has more than enough to cover those purchases, which means we're just in the hands of the courier now getting the stock to you on time.

really? no packing and shipping documents, just plain brown boxes? theft must be through the roof in the warehouse. you want to be talking with your distributors as I can't think of anywhere else where pallets of brown boxes just arrive and have to be opened to find out what's in them :p

B450 only supports upto 3200mhz on most models officially.... 3200c14 is great perf wise and now very little difference to 3600....

The B450s I tried some did work 3600 but others not on known 3600 capable cpus... All did 3200

I tried retail 3900x today IF only one to one upto 3200mhz on that particular sample..
