what will the B-series motherboards lack that the X-series have? what will have to be compromised? OC abilities? less IO's?

Quite. Arrived just now - first thing I did was remove the sticker - no visible residue. Motherboard was at maybe 10°C to 15°C when I did this, straight out of the DPD van.Saw this on Redd and it affects multiple brands... insane how anyone can let this happen and whoever thought this was a good idea deserves to be fired.
I wonder if it's a problem of scale, maybe they aren't going to produce that many x670 /x670E boards, relative to B650/B650E boards?
They use the same chipset, but doubled up for x670.
AMD is probably limiting how many x670 boards are produced, to keep prices high.
This diagram explains really well what you get from a 2nd Promontory 21 chip, in addition to a single chip:
• M2 NVME X4 PCIe v4 slot
• x4 Sata III ports
• 2 20Gbps USB type C ports
• 4 10Gbps USB standard type ports
• 4 USB 2.0 ports

Yes, they are low end/trash tier.Didn't A#20 boards have restrictions?
Didn't A#20 boards have restrictions?
A far cry from the $125 we were told then?B650 MSI info here:
Budget & Mainstream Friendly AMD B650 Motherboards Prices Revealed, Starting at $199 US
The very first AMD B650 motherboards from MSI have been listed by US retailer, B&H, with prices starting at just $199 US.wccftech.com
Obviously we don't know how much boards from other companies will cost. ASRock is likely to offer some cheap (but not necessarily good) boards. I wonder if there will be boards with no wifi?A far cry from the $125 we were told then?
Why wouldn't you be as it works just as well as ddr5 while costing less?if you happy with DDR4
if I was planning on keeping system for good number of few years personally would prefer DDR5Why wouldn't you be as it works just as well as ddr5 while costing less?
Yeah, its a pretty obvious decision for a new platform. It would be a more difficult decision for AMD if Intel hadn't already adopted DDR5 on LGA1700.if I was planning on keeping system for good number of few years personally would prefer DDR5
If going DDR5 now you need to spend almost £300 to get 32gb of anything decent vs half that for a decent set of b-die. The performance difference between either is negligible while the B-die will likely hold its value more for resale compared to today's top DDR5.if I was planning on keeping system for good number of few years personally would prefer DDR5
