True, be interesting to see if it gets cheaper when the x3d CPUs come out. But now I'm looking at possibly saving about £30 on the CPU with the 7600 and thanks to the previous poster with the table in memory performance I was looking at the 6000 ddr5 for £200 now I'm looking at 5600 ddr5 for £150 that's £80 saving towards a GPU.TBH, if it was £50 difference, i would have said yes
but £30 ? may as well get the X version
I never knew that buying haribo required that much planningDistribution receives from China or USA and pays in USD.
Just like I am buying product daily from Taiwan, Hong Kong and China, but I buy all items in USD.
So you dont buy direct from amd and buy from a distributor? I thought ocuk bought these cpus in at 100k units per model direct from manufacturers?Distribution receives from China or USA and pays in USD.

You can still find the X versions at those prices. That's disappointing, as the X versions were that price a couple of weeks ago.
It does seem like the non X variants are the way to go if using an air cooler:
AMD Ryzen 7 7700 Review - Affordable Zen 4 Powerhouse
The Ryzen 7 7700 is AMD's most affordable eight-core Zen 4 processor. For $330 you even get a good cooler included that features RGB illumination. Performance data in our review confirms that the 7700 non-X offers pretty much the same performance as the 7700X.www.techpowerup.com
I get 5.25ghz all core in CPUz bench, with Curve Optimiser at -15 (all cores) on a 7700X with a high end air cooler.
So, there's really very little in it (I guess people with good AIO coolers will say otherwise), but these are rather expensive and not the most reliable.
The only reason I might not recommend a non X variant, is that they may struggle to run at 5Ghz all core in some cases (and you can likely get a used 7700X for less money).
The 7700x was cheaper than the non x through most of December.Just noticed the prices on OcUK for the non-x 7000 series is now live.
7600 - £239.99
7700 - £338.99
7900 - £439.99

Tempted by the 7700... I could cool that on my U12A without an issue I'd have thought now?
Indeed. Waiting seems sensible here. They've had to up the X prices to allow the non-Xs make sense. The 7700x was cheaper than the non x through most of December.

The non-X chips come with a cooler, if it’s the same one the 3900X included then its surprisingly good. I used it on my 7950X for a few days, it gets a bit loud under load but did a fine job.
Probably will drop there pretty quick I'd have thought, the 13600K is still a good chunk sub £400 and competes with it relatively well and the 13700k is sub £400 at the moment.was hoping the 7900 would have been £399. its looking to be a good pick from the non x bunch.
Hmm got to play the waiting game
