• Competitor rules

Please remember that any mention of competitors, hinting at competitors or offering to provide details of competitors will result in an account suspension. The full rules can be found under the 'Terms and Rules' link in the bottom right corner of your screen. Just don't mention competitors in any way, shape or form and you'll be OK.

And there is the signature goalpost moving. Another one for my very small ignore list, bored of it.
Moving goalposts doesn't mean what you think it means.

It means to change the rule or criterion (goal) of a process or competition while it is still in progress, in such a way that the new goal offers one side an advantage or disadvantage

The whole internet is complaining about nvidias vram because of this game. I guess ill tell them it's cherrypicked and doesn't matter.

Of course you're lying because why not. There are several games released this year with the same vram issue and the internet complained about all of them

What in god's name am I lying about?

Yes, there are several games - but the moment you complain about amd's performance on one of them, it becomes a cherrypicked game that shouldn't be used as a comparison.

Do you not think there might be a difference between the expected performance and lifespan of AMDs "budget"sub 250 quid chip and a graphics card some people paid the best part of a grand for in the last two years ?

I'm well aware that my 7600 might not last more than a couple of years before I need to replace it, and I'm OK with that. If I'd given in and bought a 3070 like I intended to at the silly prices they were, I know I'd be much more annoyed right now.

Anyone with a 7600x and 6700xt and happy with the combo, need to build my new 7600x rig and reuse the 6700xt and just wondering what to expect, coming from a trusty old 3570k lol.
Honestly, I'm not Happy with it (7600 and 6750xt) in the sense whatever you buy you're getting bent over for the last couple of years, the motherboard cost was especially a kick in the teeth. The hope is the platform is upgradable down the line and some sort of value is found there.

For context, I was on a 7700k and 1070 and intended to rebuild with the 3000 series, watched the prices and noped out and bought an Xbox to tide me over.

We will decide who is banned and who isn’t. We’re monitoring everything closely and as you said, it isn’t just one person. In the meantime, please use the ignore feature.

TLDR looking at around roughly 23% IPC gains, and overall performance uplift is about 30% over Zen4

Dangerous announcing this before there's good stock of 7800X3Ds... now there's a temptation to just get a 7600X because it's still an upgrade over present, and it banks a couple of hundred to put towards an 8800X3D next year

Just cancelled my order, albeit not due to these rumours. Got a good deal on a mobo but AM5 is just too buggy for me to jump on board yet. The more I read the more my excitement levels fell. Hopefully it is in a good place in 12 months time.

Im not usually an early adopter for things, but AM5 is definitely one of those that im glad I didnt get into ith the 7000 series. Despite good performance, it wasnt a big enough leap but the constant issues along with the price point was quite off putting. Im more likely going to go for the 8000 series, if not the 9000 by which time the jump from my 5800x should be a huge jump
